Villains of the Aturi Cluster?

By vyrago, in X-Wing

All I can think of is how awesome you could make missions if there was an Assault Gunboat.

Convoy Rescue.

Hyperspace in and disrupt an attack on a convoy by X-Wings and Y-Wings.

Dont need gunboats if you have a gozanti. Deploy within range 1 of the transport, save the freighters before he rebels kill them.

It's for those of us who want to relive our days playing TIE Fighter on PC.

*edit* and some of use don't want to have to use the Gozanti every mission.

Not every mission, just the ones where the scenerio calls for hyperspace.

Not everyone wants to be locked into Gunboat, Tie Advance, and Tie Defender to do those missions.

Does the adv proto have hyperdrive? The episodes of Rebels where they inquisitors seems to show up places indicate to me that they do.

Does the advnce proto have a hyperdrive? I dont remember that one.

Empire would need to be careful on mixing pilot skills in certain ways. Imagine a Tie Interceptor with Mauler Mithel and The Inquisitor's skills. 5 dice attacks at all ranges.

Are there more "broken" combinations in the Empire than in the rebel fleet?

Wampa with Advanced targeting computer is another big one, that comes online at PS4. Kir Kanos in a x7, Lt Lorrir with Epsilon Leader...

Phantom with Inquisitor, Mauler Mithel, Omega Ace and Mareek Stele.

Does the advnce proto have a hyperdrive? I dont remember that one.

One would assume so, since the Inquisitors in season 2 use it to go to severa planets without any other Imperial ships around...in the episode with the babies, the space station that is empty, and the final episode.

Made the Shuttle Support card

Another fun combo I just thought up.

*mod-Targeting Comp*

-Night Beast [PS5] (free focus action on Green)

-Omega Ace [PS7] (spend a focus and TL to make all results crits)

-Wampa [PS3]

Always dealing faceup damage cards no matter what when attacking

Just thought I would bring this up. If you by legends most Tie variants could get a hyper-drive installed. So if you are going for a hero campaign you could always say the empire due to the backwater quadrant and lack of strong rebel presence.

"No unit dedicated support ships are available at this time and that the high command has shipped these hyper-drives to be installed on available fighters to provide any long distance needs in their signed duties."

This would cover any ship changes and allow the unit once they have enough point to buy a support ship to obtain one. Basically showing the the unit convinced the quarter master to find one at the expense of other supplies.

Let me know what you think.

That's kinda what I was thinking, but usually the hyper equipped TIE's had reduced maunverability. I'd rather just say that the Gozanti is an unarmed one and hanging back out of the fight, but this means it is unable to help if you get shot down (which is why you'd need a support craft closer). If you buy the Gozanti then you have it to command to come into the fight.

If a Gozanti was added to the mission, then I feel there would have to be a enemy scale, like add a group of bombers (Y or B) who are strike AI targeting it. You can have one for free, but you better keep someone(s) flying cover for it.

Got the support ship cards made. Had to change the Gozanti action bar as I could not find whiteicons and my attemps to make then white came out horrible.

very nice work Salted Diamond!

What photo editing software do you use?

LOL, Microsoft Paint

LOL, Microsoft Paint

holy crap! that's SUPER impressive :D

Updated the pilot cards to include the Assault Gunboat and different TIE/ln art. Also updated the X-wing AI card to remove the free TL.

Any suggestions?

The hard part is ship AI- havig just worked up AI for the Tie FO, I'm not looking foreward to making HWK and Ywing AI.

I think some of the original missions can be modified to accommodate a rebel or scum AI. The ambush and holonet scenarios would be fairly easy I think. You'd need to have some new 'fluff' written for them but otherwise doable.

You might consider doing a 50/50 split between S&V and Rebels but I think it's asking for too much.

Just about done doing clean-up on the pilot/support ship cards. Now just need to make the AI ace cards. In the pley testing I have done, AI has always been naked so far. I'm thinking that if genaric AI get anything, it should only be their "typical" ordanace or astromech. So B,X,Y get proton torps, A,Z get concission missiles. Using the TIE Bomber as an example, the basic PS2 version had ordance. Then at ace level (PS3) they all had EM and an EPT, then up to 3 more EPT's as the players went up.

I'm thinking something similar. Lets start with the X-wing. Basic PS2 rookie has proton torpedos. At PS4 "elite" they get an astormech and IA. Then EPT's at 6,8,10. As there is no genaric ship like TIE/ln's I think this will keep them managible but not too easy.

Template for the Rebel Ace cards. What does everyone think? They are slightly smaller then the HotAC ones, but I'm having to rough it in and eyeball it.

Those look great, Salted Diamond.

@ knavelead Thanks.

If anyone can help come up what to put for them, that would be a great help. My plan for basic and 1st elite slot is...

basic=ordance/or cannon for B

elite=astromech with IA for X

EM and Crew/system for B

astromech and turret for Y

EPT and Mod for A. Use TIE interceptor as guide for A-wing mods

One of the Ywings should be a BTL Stressbot. Starts at dorsal, replaces with TLT at PS6. Pilot skills include Eaton Vrill and Wired, and eventually Horton Salm.

I like it. Wondering if the TLT might be too much, might go ion.

Basic = Flechette Torps

Elite = R3-A2

TLT + BTL-A4

PS6 = Wired

PS8 = Eaton Vrill

PS10 = Horton Salm

what about for a B-wing

Basic = Adv torps

Elite = Zeb crew

= Sensor Jammer

PS6 = Intimdation

PS8 = "Chopper" (pilot)

PS10 = Outmanuver or Gemmer Sojan
