HB: Clone Wars Source Book?

By ladyjulianne, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Was there one? Would you need one if the game is going to take place only a year or so before Order 66? Or would the Rebels source book floating around be good enough?

It would be nice if they did one even if only detailing the hardware dating from that period!

Given how they're saying the Rebel Alliance used Separatist ships you'd think that would be a good choice so hopefully if their contract doesn't bar them from producing one we might see such a release?

Oh I was referring to a home brew'd one, there's almost no chance they'll actually release one imo (unfortunately) considering how badly both FFG and Disney seems to want to forget the prequels even happened.

I don't get the impression that FFG wants to forget the prequels happened. It seems more likely that they are just more focused on the Original trilogy since that's what most people who've watched Star Wars are familiar with. It reaches the most people.

You say that, but every episode of Rebels this season has had a call-back to The Clone Wars, even if it's just the presence of Rex and/or Ahsoka.

Honestly it's not that difficult to run a Clone Wars-era campaign just using what FFG has released. All the Careers and Specializations are archetypal by design, so they can be applied to any point in time, from Dawn of the Jedi to Legacy. The gear in the core books are also archetypal, as some version of "heavy blaster pistol" or "blaster rifle" has existed throughout the known history of the galaxy (and if you really want to go so far back, there are stats for slugthrowers). Further, most of the technology in the books -- ships, vehicles, named weapons -- are stated to have been around from the Clone Wars or even before. Just ignore the more obvious recent stuff (TIE fighters, X-Wings, late model Star Destroyers, etc.).

And if it's the fluff you want, just dive Wookieepedia. Some of the articles can be a bear to get through, but most of them are readable and useful.

I would like to do a Clone Wars campaign again, I use to do all my campaigning during the Clone Wars era in d20 SW/SAGA versions as that's what my kids liked the most. I never had a problem with episodes 1-3 myself even though I always liked 4-6. I hope they get to do sourcebooks on episodes 7-9.
