Daredevil is.
AAAAAND Targeting Astromech sucks.
Daredevil is.
Daredevil is.
A white manouver that gives you stress after you perform it. Nothing to be seen there.
Why aren't people thinking of EXPERT HANDLING or STAY ON TARGET? [...]
Stay or Target is an EPT and the generics can't take it. I do think/hope Ravencat is right and the people who have proxyed the Integrated Astromech think that's a fine buff/fix. If so then Target Astromech just add icing as needed. You wouldn't put icing on toast (well some might).
See how I get that icing analogy in there?
Company pot luck is today and I'm already looking toward holiday treats, weight gain and playing on the X-Wing forum.
While obviously a better fit for Porkins since he can get rid of stress, I kind of wonder if SoT and TA could work on Wedge as well. He hits harder than Porkins (debatable maybe, since Porkins gets to focus too), gets to move later, and can sort of arc dodge this way. Another interesting option would be to choose a move that lets you deliberately crash into a threat (say, a turret ship), as you still get your target lock and can shoot at something else.
Edited by OkapiIt is a shame that daredevil was changed to a white maneouvre
I was thinking the same thing as Heychadwick. This astromech plus SOT plus integrated astromech makes the High PS EPT X-Wings very cool (only 4 of them...). They will be reminiscent of the pre-nerf phantom. Eliminating the need plan for your opponents move and a still get an action is huge. The x-65 is now (potentially) an arc dodger.

You still choose the speed though, so it's not like skill is taken completely out of it, and you can only do it every other turn unless you have a Wingman around (maybe a role for post-missile Blount?). BB-8 also lets you reposition, so the question is if the combo is better than that. But again, you get to deliberately bump and shoot with a target lock, which could be powerful.
Super Dash + The Porkins Reactor + Bandit = 100 points, though. Hm...

**** I still have it saved as a red manouver in my mind ... well I don't think I ever used it.
A pity.
They errata'd that ages ago.Daredevil is.
Blowing away both Outlaw tech and new astromech builds. Teh bastards!
for 33 points Wedge plus SOT plus targeting astromech and integrated astromech is competitive. imagine flying against an enemy squad of 3 or 4 ships. you get to see where they move then choose the best manouver to get you out of their arcs (except turrets), you may not always be targeting the same ship but wedge with a TL will be very nasty (yes it is every other turn but there is a good chance you are in a better position than them so your next green isn't soo bad).
I still think it is wrong to evaluate the Targeting Astromech based on just this card alone, or even in conjunction with IA.
I think you need to take the whole wave into account.
Kanan removes stress when executing white maneuvers, which is very powerful, given the huge amount of white maneuvers out there.
Targeting Astromech gives target locks when executing red maneuvers, which isn't all that powerful, given that the astromech carriers don't have a lot of red maneuvers.
Unless there will be an increase in red maneuvers and a decrease in whites because of this wave.
don't just look at the whole wave, look at the whole game. We've already seen some decent ideas for Targeting Astro:
1. Porkins with Stay on Target
2. Hobbie Klivian
3. Knave or Blackmoon with Advanced Sensors
4. Red Squadron Veteran with Integrated Astromech
I think people really thought that Targeting Astro would be a 1 point K4 security droid clone.
And there are also all kinds of possibilities in epic play, when you have the combination with Comms Booster. No stress, a target lock, and a focus? Yes please.

I know, everyone was saying that. And it was never going to be that. Designers have said in interviews they'll never reprint the same ability twice. Only exception might be Hera's ability on the Ghost and Attack Shuttle, but in that case its the same pilot. I even doubt that though, considering the Boba/Kath situation with Scum vs Empire.
Basically, the point is that it there was no way it could have been green maneuvers, because that is K4.

Not sure why that would be a bad thing. Certainly make it an effective generic droid for Xs, Ys and Es. Ok maybe not so much for Ys..
1 point k4 clone is stupid broken
expectations where either
1.) literal k4 reprint on an astromech slot (3 points, meaning TA Rookie = FCS Blue i.t.o point cost)
2.) 1 point red maneuver k4

I'm already looking forward to giving the following a try:
Garven Dreis - Targeting Astromech, Integrated Astromech
Rookie Pilot - Targeting Astromech, Integrated Astromech
Rookie Pilot - Targeting Astromech, Integrated Astromech
Gold Squadron Pilot - BTL-A4, R3-A2, Ion Cannon Turret

thats because not even the empire wanted Boba's ability.

This is for anther thread, but I have a few points. I don't stand by it being good or thematic for Boba, but I think it's a good ability just based on the Text. It should have been on a cheaper ship. If Imperial Boba's ability isn't good, then neither is Juno's, Hera's, or Stay on Target, and I think a lot of people will disagree with those. Good ability, wrong pilot, wrong price point.
Edited by Engine25I don´t get the disappointment here that targeting astromech is not making X-wings so much better (not to say fix them).
In general, I don´t think X-wings will get their fix via astromech droids, that would be bad because you would dramatically decrease the variance of ships. All ships then would most likely take the same droid to "fix" the T-65. So I am happy that targeting astromech is not a "too-much-awesome" card.

It is great for the game and a cool little effect.

As far as I am concerned X-Wings are good now and FFG does not need to do to much else.
Get that Rouge Squadron Aces Pack out, at the most!

if it was just ANOTHER bank it would be amazing and totally worth it (see fettigator) which would free his crew for something worth being a crew.
