Hi all, playing my first ever non starter game tonight and put a list together so before i go and hide while it gets picked apart, thought i would get opinions

Well, first thing is ISD-I is not able to take ECM, that is a Defensive upgrade that only the ISD-II can take.

Also, while gunnery team may seem nice on the GSDs, they are not that helpful. You want to try to get double arcs and once you learn how gunnery teams become pointless. Ordnance experts will serve you a lot better than gunnery team will.

I recommend the following as a base setup:

Empire Fleet (373 of 400 pts)
Commander: Grand Moff Tarkin (38 pts)
Flagship: (138 pts)

  • Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer(120 pts)
  • Gunnery Team (7 pts)
  • Electronic Counter Measures (7 pts)
  • Leading Shots (4 pts)

Fleet Ship 1: (67 pts)

  • Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer(56 pts)
  • Ordnance Experts (4 pts)
  • Assault Concussion Missiles (7 pts)

Fleet Ship 2: (77 pts)

  • Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer(56 pts)
  • Demolisher (10 pts)
  • Ordnance Experts (4 pts)
  • Assault Concussion Missiles (7 pts)

Squadrons (53 of 134 pts):

  • 1x Darth Vader Tie Advanced Squadron (21 pts)
  • 1x Howlrunner Tie Fighter Squadron (16 pts)
  • 2x Tie Fighter Squadron (16 pts)

This is a start, you still have 27 points where you can add upgrades. For the ISD turbolaser slot, I would recommend either Heavy Turbolaser Turrets or XI7 (both are 6 points), as they both help with getting as much damage on your target as you can.

All good, takes a bit to get things down. Even some people who have been building lists for some time make mistakes like that.

Also the the "cards that go with them" are objectives. I am not the best at choosing objectives for lists, but I would recommend:

Red: Opening Salvo

Yellow: Contested Outpost or Firelanes

Blue: Dangerous Territory

Also, another upgrade I would recommend for the GSDs is engine techs, with you running tarkin, you can always resolve a nav command to trigger engine techs.

I like Kami's fleet.

I'm more of a Tie Interceptor kind of guy; you can have 4 for 44 points all speed 5, 4 Blue attack, Counter 2. Your really only need to stall and lock enemy squadrons in position for a few turns.

My squadrons got taken apart, he had Luke, 3 X-Wing, 2 B- Wings and 2 Y-Wings (took Luke out before going down though :)

Won the Battle with the Imp star left, a corvette got caught out of position in front of it at range 2 and got obliterated lol

In my eyes you MUST put engine techs on demolisher. When you spend a nav at the right time you can close such a big gap so quick, AND shoot after. Its clutch.
