Are ISDs... underwhelmingggg???

I sense IG88 will become more and more played as people used the ISD 1 as a dedicated carrier.

Even with people not playing many squadrons, a well supported IG88 can do some crazy things. . . Though. . . I am still thinking on Mithel.. .

Let's see some new lists.

IG-88 is pretty impressive, but he's got a bit of a glass jaw. He loves hanging out with Dengar, though (so... I'm Counter 3 and I can just Rogue move speed 5 right past these now-Heavy engaging squadrons to keep sniping the best target? yes, yes I will). If Imperials had someone like Adar Tallon I would be activating IG (or Bossk) twice a turn and just going nuts.

If you want to build a carrier that really leverages Chiraneau, you can go ISD-I + Chiraneau + Boosted Comms + Expanded Hangar Bays + Flight Controllers. That is not a cheap ship, but it's great with Rhymerballs and also great with Mauler Mithel, who can keep hopping around and popping enemy squadrons for the 1 guaranteed damage. In a Tarkin fleet you can even drop off the occasional Squadron token to activate just Mithel to keep him as annoying as possible every turn.

You can achieve similar results with a Jumpmaster/Dengar, but it's only within the range 1 bubble of that squadron. Chiraneau with Boosted Comms gives extraordinary freedom of movement in a very wide potential bubble.

Wave 2 has barely hit its stride. To come up with such conclusions, I say the only thing underwhelming is the playtesting.

I am very, very whelmed with the ISD.

Well, there was what, 8 of them in one day, over there? :D

ISD vs ISD is great they are like two heavy weight boxers trading punches. I find that an ISD to anything flying in the Toilet/Congo line broadside formation it's a bit lack luster. I have been shredded up pretty bad before I can get off my first shot.

Because of that I know I have to change things I do the next time I field this ship namely I need to slamming Engineering commands once I'm in Rebel firing range.

Played another game against my self while everyone slept in this morning.

Still can't justify using an MC80. God that thing sucks up points and just doesn't do enough to justify it. I'm going back to dual AF's and some MC30's.

Side note- ISD II is worth every penny.

I had a MC80 take out both a ISD II and a VSD II in one volley with a well timed slash. Didn't have Akbar, was running it with Independence as a carrier. Naturally both the ISD and VSD were pretty well bangged up, but I managed to land a ton of damage on both with those huge side arcs.

I finally flew an ISD the other day in battle. I loved Avenger title on an ISD II. I equipped XI7's, ECM, and Engineering Command Dial team. ECM was critical in ending the battle with no shields and only two hull damage. I found the XI7 was redundant with Avenger, if another ship landed an Overload Pulse. I wish I had taken XX-9's to do double criticals instead. Overall was very happy with the maneuverability and power it could throw out. I was able to finish my opponents ISD with second round shots from the aft and port sides of my ISD. I'm still trying to find a use for the ISD I. I'm just really frightened by its lack of defense upgrades and overall cost.

Shhhhh. We don't speak of such things. Rebel victories are purely propaganda from rabble-rousers and malcontents determined to spread misinformation and panic among the peaceful citizens of the Empire for their own selfish agendas.

I dunno, I can find a use for Fighter 6...
