Getting to 400 points

By PhantomFO, in Star Wars: Armada

I've just started collecting this game. Thus far, my collection is still pretty small:

Core Set

Nebulon-B Expansion

CR-90 Expansion

Imperial Star Destroyer Expansion

I'm guessing I might have enough with that to maybe run some bad 300-point fleets. But what would be the most cost-effective purchases for both Rebel and Imperial? Seems like I'd want at least in AFMkII for Rebels, and maybe a Home One and fightrs, but I have no idea for Imps. Fighters and a Victory? A Gladiator? Rogues and Villains over the fighters?

EDIT: oh hey, this thread that's literally 10 posts below mine as of this writing.

For Rebels, you can't go wrong with an AFMkII. They're wonderful whales of space. You'll also want to get the rest of the fighters at one point or another. X-Wings get boring after a while.

Your next purchases should be:

AFMk2

Gladiator

Rebel fighters

Imperial fighters

For Rebels I would recommend getting two Assault Frigates. A couple of Nebs. And a pack of squadrons. For Imperials a couple of Gladiators and a pack or two of Imperial squadrons

Of course by now, wave two is available and adds a lot.

Wave 2 Rebels are a bit more specialized. New player can't go wrong with the AF, given how flexible it is and once they get the hang of things it'll still fit into plenty of lists.
