Been playing for a while now, and it is coming more and more apparent that there are some cards that are just too good, or feel as if they are needed to help the Imperial Fleet.
So far I struggle to build a Fleet without Motti. He just brings so much to the Fleet that it is hard to ignore, also he is our second cheapest Admiral. As this game doesn't have a system where each point of damage sustained reduces the effectiveness of the ships, the only important piece of hull is the last. Making our ships even harder to kill is brilliant, 3 Imperial Class Star Destroyers and Motti is going to be a very tough nut to crack, sure if his Flagship is taken out the rest of the fleet drops.
Same is true of Gunnery Teams. We pay a premium for the sheer weight of damage our ships can unleash from the front arc, and our broadsides are quite frankly weak. Gaining the ability to fire out of the same arc twice is again something that is too good to pass on. The one balancing issue is that we have to target a different ship, that isn't a bad thing, as allows our fleets to spread out their damage over the enemy fleet.
Maybe I need to change my approach to Fleet building, is anyone else finding that there are cads that they just have to take above all others?
