Running old West End Games modules

By TheMOELANDER, in Game Masters

So last Saturday I ran an old West End Games module for a couple of people interested in the new Star Wars RPG (here in Germany it has not yet gained a strong footing).

I did run it with my regular group as a "Side-Mission" we did for the Rebellion in which my character set out for a bit. They are all at aroun 1000 XP and it prooved to be a challenge.

The Modules name is Operation Starfall, which some might know. Basically what teh PCs have to do is to escape alive from a doomed Victory Star Destroyer together with it's constructor. Since WEG did all the difficulties in their adventures similar to how we have them now it was really easy to convert this, I just had to write up and print out the few NPCs that game has. I used the Standard rules for Stormtroopers and Army troopers for Fleet soldiers. In the end it went very smooth and we all had a blast in that final At-St battle in the hangar against the Star Destroyers captain. The second group (the one on saturday witth 60XP chars) had more trouble but was even more satisfied withthe adventure.

Even Duty opportunities prooved quite easy to write in the module. Some were even there, like the Intelligence gained from slicing the different computer terminals.

So what are your experiences running old West End Games Modules? I am currently looking at other ones that were translated to german (makes it way easier for me) and might give them a try.

Several of them have been updated and modified for SWRPG by forum members here :) .

Rendezvous at Ord Mantell

WEG Modules for AoR

I've only run Rendezvous at Ord Mantell, but it was a lot of fun.
