Kanan and dash

The pre-nerf phantom didn't win worlds either I don't think.

But it actually made it to the final table, something Dash hasn't done yet. It was also the 2nd most popular ship Imperial side.

There were also 2 Phantoms in the top 8, and 4 in the top 16. There were also 7 YT-1300's in the top 16. There was not however a single Dash.

Are you talking about 2014 with that entire statement? That year not a single Dash was entered into the entire tournament, because he wasn't out, yet.

http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/chartsIf we consult List Juggler we see that Dash is the most played rebel ship. Those stats are however partially taken from befor the large base MoV nerf and Han Solo and Chewbacca add up to a higher percentage. That also doesn't say anything about success. Let us for that look at nationals results from this year: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/178660-2015-nationals-results/

Only one, the US one, has been won with a Dash list and as we all remember that was certainly not the usual Super Dash. Even more interesting a lot of them have been won by Brobots, of which only ~50% had VI. Without VI that is a matchup that does favor Dash. On that basis I would not get the idea that Dash is metawarping at all. He is strong and a part of it, but he is not broken and does not dominate.

TIE Phantoms on the other hand took 5 nationals in 2014 and also often were second place: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/110928-2014-nationals-results/'5 > 1ish' is a true statement. Dash domination only happens in your head. Kanan gives him another good build as alternative, but he is unlikely to break Dash since he does have a drawback that is not insignificant with Dash not getting triple actions.
