Hi all,
Is there, somewhere out there, a list of all the 2016 Store Championship events with dates/locations? Other than trying to keep tabs on fb groups there doesn't seem to be a way of finding what's happening locally.

Not likely since I would guess MANY of the store kits went straight to eBay. It is a sad truth that many stores simply order a kit and never hold the event.

FFG will post a list once all stores have been picked and notified. Dates is another matter.

Not actually that large of a problem since they have really cracked down on that in the last few years.

Have you seen eBay these past few days?? TONS of posts for the cards in kits already. They do not "select" stores. If you ordered a kit, you are already "picked".
They only choose locations for Regional events, not SC.

Just because some stores are shady doesn't mean they all are. We have never had a store championship not run in our area. A few bad apples and all that.

1) I never said they ALL are, I said MANY are stripping kits to sell on eBay.
2) FFG does not post lists of SC because they do not know who is actually hosting an event because some order kits and do not run them. (I've actually asked FFG directly for a list, but they can only tell who has ordered a kit)
3) Regional events are hand picked by FFG to actually host an event.

Not true at all. They have posted lists of the stores every other year no reason to expect 2016 to be any different.
They only print the lists of the stores who ordered kits. You have to contact the store to see if they are conducting an event as it it uncertain whether or not they are. As opposed to Regionals where they confirm the date with a specific selected location.
Last year: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/more/x-wing-2015-store-championship-locations/
What they SHOULD do is cross reference the purchase list with some sort of tournament reporting to ensure stores actually conduct the events. If they do not, then they should be disallowed from ordering the following year.

That list is exactly what I'm after. I agree that if the stores order the kits they should hold the event, however having that sort of list at least gives me the contact details of those stores near to me so I can attend as many as possible.
Thanks
That list is exactly what I am talking about. That is the list of events. If a store doesn't run one they need to be reported. I also find zero 2016 kits on eBay.
Eh, you can report them but I doubt anything gets done.
As for eBay, there are a couple pages full actually. (search: Winter OP kit)

Reporting them gets them removed. It's been done before. Winter Op kits are not store championship kits and some have been run by now so it's possible some of the auctions are winners selling their stuff in some cases. Far as I know store champ kits have not been received yet.
Every store championship listed by FFG in my region took place. Threshold for accountability is a little higher with the SC process. The sky is not falling.
Yup. I reported a store 2 years ago that was selling the kit on Ebay. The listing was promptly removed, and then relisted until a different name, which I reported as well and it was removed as well. While I'm sure that they probably broke the set apart and sold it as components and still got away with it, the victory came from the fact that last year they did not get a kit. So action was actually taken.

Let me stop you right there; you have a clear misunderstanding how things work.
First, stores apply for store champs just like they do for regionals but they are less selective. Just like regionals, stores can choose the date of the store champs as well. Putting a kit up on ebay will result in the bye card being invalidated (it's easy to narrow down where this comes from).
Second, seasonal organized play kits can be purchased by anyone who has direct access to a distributor. They cost about $30. Most distributors heavily penalize you by shipping to a residential address by charging massive shipping charges. FFG has no problem with this because there is no organization behind these kits. They exist to increase play of the game so if some gamers can get a kit and run an event when their store otherwise won't, FFG will suffer no negative effect (because their name isn't associated to any event). So I could buy a seasonal kit and put it up on eBay all I want but there will be reprocussions for doing so with store/regional kits (which are significantly more expensive).

So let's just calm down and let FFG sort it out in time for the new year.
