X-Wing on sale today on Amazon

By PhantomFO, in X-Wing

Original Core Set: $26.99

Falcon: $22.14

GR-75: $36.19

Tantive IV: $59.27

A-Wing Expansion: $11.14

HWK: $12.60

The small ship, Core set and Falcon sales aren't super great (about on par with Miniature Market), but those are great prices on both the GR-75 and Tantive. Everything also comes with Prime shipping.

Also sales on some RPG and some Armada stuff.

I only buy from Amazon.

Living in the UK I find them the most reliable for delivery.

I'm so glad I'm a career mail man as opposed to a substitute one. If I had to deliver on Sunday I'd go ******* nuts.

Also I'm glad that I'm not on the overtime desired list. I need to have a life outside of the post office.

Darren delivered my last x wing order on a Sunday. He's a nice man. They send my a link so I know exactly where he is and what time he will be at my house.

I'm just glad I live in The States, where I don't have to order from Amazon.

Cool Stuff Inc's regular prices are cheaper than those amazon "sale" prices.

25.49 Core (either one)

18.99 Falcon

38.49 Transport

57.49 Tantive

9.49 A-Wing

9.49 HWK-290

Not cheaper if you're ordering less than $100 and have Amazon Prime, though.

Sales on any site are awesome. Where you get the big difference is the shipping cost. I have a local shop that I can go to and get stuff at 20% off. Or I can get over $35 and get free shopping at Amazon. Not certain of Miniature Market of Cool Stuff or Game Nerdz shipping costs off the top of my head.

Miniature Market is a flat $6.95 for orders under $99, and free shipping above that.

...ordering less than $100...

Just kidding! Personally, I've never in my life ordered less than $100 from CSI, but you're right. It would cost me $12.84 from CSI if that's all I was ordering (9.49 + 3.63 shipping). That's $1.70 more than Amazon. But I need to spend $99 with Amazon to get "free" shipping.

If I order 4 A-Wings from Amazon, I can get free shipping from Amazon without paying for Prime, for $44.56.

If I order 4 A-Wings from CSI, and pay for shipping, it costs $45.37.

So a difference of $0.81.

But remember, this is comparing Amazon's "sale" prices to CSI's regular, everyday prices.

This also doesn't factor in the discount I get at CSI and MM because of my previous purchases. It didn't cost me any extra to join, but those 4 A-Wings plus shipping would only cost me $44.23 from CSI.

It really all depends on your ordering patterns.

I recommend everyone that orders online to check all sources, Miniature Market, Amazon, Cool Stuff Inc, Cardhaus, etc. INCLUDING shipping & tax for everything they order.

Another UK postie, or elsewhere in the world?

These are the same prices for quite a few weeks. No sale.

All those prices are higher than Miniature Market's except for the 2 Huge ships, and together they're less than 50 cents cheeper than MM. You might save a couple dollars on the shipping depending on what you ordered, but I'd still rather support an actual game store like MM than Amazon with my gaming money.

United States Postal Service. I didn't know Royal Mail also did Sunday Amazon parcels.

Remember that as I'm complaining relentessly about X-Wing on here that you're talking to a (disgruntled) postal worker, haha. I'll be told to do 10 hours of mail in 8 hours and predictably fail at it, then I'll go to the FLGS and face someone playing Super Dash and predictably fail at it. Then I'll complain about it on here using words like 'autoloss' and people will give me **** for it.

Basically I see myself as blatantly correct about things when I complain because I'm used to dealing with postal management and I'm usually right about things.

So when someone tells me to 'just block Super Dash, he's so predictable' when he's one of if not the hardest ship to block in the game and one of the least predictable considering he has a turret and large ship boost and barrel roll, I just discard their incorrect opinion and keep complaining. Just like I do with postal management. My route is about 90 minutes too long, so everyday I ask for help and if it's not given to me I they'll get a call at 3pm saying that I'm behind and need help to make it back in 8 hours, everyday. And my supervisor will tell me that my route is 8 hours and I'll just sheepishly say, "okay" so he'll stop talking and go over 8 hours.

A few days ago in german amazon the Tantive was available for 37,50€. That was a real sale ;-)

yeah i always order at least 100 bucks worth.. even if it means i have to add in a dice pack or some other cheap item to get above 100!! lol I normally use Cool Stuff and MM.. both are good. Cool stuff is a little quicker shipping because i live closer to them.. but thats about it.. i am glad FFG came up with more cheap items i will need in the future like the new bases and dial upgrades.. will make it easier to hit the 100 buck mark...

We don't do Sundays (yet) :D (That said, I think we may be slowly headed that way - some offices are now open Sundays for people to collect parcels.)

I definitely get where you're coming from on the workload though. I seem to go over my finish time a lot more often than I finish early (although they pay overtime when I do, which at least helps pay for my plasticrack ;))

Thanks for the heads up! I finally splurged on the Tantive.

It's easier for me because I buy X-Wing, Armada, Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, Force and Destiny, Descent, and Imperial Assault, in addition to their other board games.

I avoid LCGs because they can really be a money sink. lol

Postage rates to Australia are prohibitive for Amazon and any US based game supplier like Miniature Market. Some UK distributors offer free shipping to Aus and Book Depository is free as well but limited in range. I wait for sales on local internet suppliers and buy enough to get free shipping offers. Most of them have a reward point system as well which usually means $5 off the total. It means I make a purchase every few months of 200 to 300 dollars but I save $50 or more that way. The bricks and mortar game shops just cannot match those prices except for sale events. As much as I would like to support my FLGS it just isn't finiancially viable or pragmatic for me.

Amazon.ca has decent prices on the large ships right now. Considering the current (horrible) exchange rate, they match the pre-shipping prices at CSI: Decimator (USD21.35), YT-2400 (USD20.98), and IG (USD19.15). Most Wanted was actually cheaper than CSI a few weeks back. Considering that any two of those ships gets you free shipping anyways, that's not bad.

Camelcamelcamel says that the Decimator and IG have not been cheaper at Amazon.ca, ever, while the YT is CAD1 more expensive than it's lowest. I'm sure it doesn't match deep discounts in the US, but for Canucks, it's not bad.

I can at least pretend this plastic crack doesn't cost as much this way. My boys will love the large ships, and I'm still stalking the Falcon and Aces packs.
