What card from Wave 8 has the biggest effect on the game?

Biggest splash, yes. Biggest long term effect? I think that wil go to Crack Shot, ossibly Extra Munitions or even TIE mkII, provided that the tractor beam turns out to be the combo piece I hope it will be.

Extra Munitions is an amazing card, and it's almost surprised me that there's still so very, very little ordnance floating around. It's actually made the Slave-1 title worth a ****! Seriously, have Scum Boba with Slave-1, Cluster Missiles, and Extra Munitions should be a thing... though to get the most out of it, you're already looking at a Firespray around 50 points, which is probably why it's not a thing. Still: throw on a K4, green into R1, TL your victim with K4, Focus action, then unleash hell with Fett's re-rolls.. EM means it's now a two trick pony, which is a silly amount of damage. The other two cards you mentioned (other than TLT) are both nifty, too: Crack Shot is amazing for pushing damage through on high agility ships, and TIE MkII isn't a game changer but it opened the door for guys like the TIE Defender pilots and Major Rhymer to get back in the game, or even to add PTL to a TIE Advanced.

But Glitterstim: how I freakin' love Glitterstim. It's one shot and it's scum only, but it gives a pilot one turn of "god mode". Talonbane Cobra at R1 popping Glitterstim is a special level of nasty, especially if all goes as planned and you snag a TL on top.

Legend has it that's down to excessive concern about being able to run 4x HLC+Hull Upgrade Scyks in one go. Fear of 5x Rookies was why it was priced at 21pts once upon a time, too, back when this was seen as a bonafide threat (read: before people worked out the finer points of Swarms, and shot them to the benchmark they've been since).

Funny how whenever they 'correct' a points value to avoid specific builds, the ship ends up underpowered. They should almost have trust in their system, eh?

for 1pt it certainly won't be the "ubercannonZ" some might hope it to be.

It's one point but costs an entire attack (0 damage) and a very powerful slot, so it should still be pretty strong or even 1 point is overcosted.
