You cannot do the same action more than once in the same round. Even if you got boost, or any action, as a free action. A free action is just an action outside your normal action.

Nope, I don't have anything to hand to cite the ruling but you can only ever perform a particular action once per turn. This goes for free actions too. Free just means it doesn't take up your regular action but does not bypass the once per turn rule.

Note that being assigned token isn't the same as performing the action.

A good example is Soontir Fel with PTL. He can take a focus action, then Push the limit for an evade action. This gives a stress token which triggers Fels ability which asigns another focus.

The one item that confuses a lot of folks is that you CAN get multiple tokens, potentially.

If a card gives you a "free focus token," (see: Kyle Katarn Crew) you are still allowed to perform a Focus Action that round.

However, when a card gives you a "free action," it means that is the only time you can perform that action during the round.

As there is no such thing as a boost token, it is impossible to boost twice in a round. Period.

Page 3 of the Rules Reference, under Actions, 4th bullet point.

A ship cannot perform the same action more than once during a single round, even if one or more of the actions are free actions.

And the note under that includes any Damage card or Upgrade card multiples.

If you're still running with the original rule book, then you'll find it at the bottom of page 9. So it's been a long standing rule of the game.
