Discussion Time! The 2 syndrome
An English lesson was not what I needed today.
Well we recently got some trolls, grammar nazis are the natural progression of that.

I only mentioned it because it actually did throw me off for a moment, and because it gave me an opportunity to make a joke out of it.

Ahem! I'll have you know that I'm a highly evolved Nazi Pod-person from Planet B.
Sensor Teams are the big way to go for Gladiator 2s for me. Have Always been that way... Pick someone who doesn't have ECMs and vaporise that Brace as well as your offloading... Add rapid Reload and you don't even feel the lost die.
But... but... engine techs...
EDIT: Wrong upgrade slot... IGNORE ME!
But... but... ordnance experts...

In my personal experience, only strings the Gladiator further out on its own, where it is isolated and destroyed... I prefer to use mine as complimentary hunter killers, rather than lone assassins.

Lately, I've been running a VGGRR with ET on the Glads and Ozzel commanding.
Effectively, this makes the Gladiator the most maneuverable ship in the game, capable of going anywhere from speed 1 to speed 4 on a single command or token, with the last move always having two clicks. It's obscene where you can put this thing.
Edited by TvayumatAnd in that format, I'd be with you, too...
But GGRR is outside of my buying power.

Well, I hadn't considered the utility that Sensor Teams and Rapid Reload could add to a Glad 2.
It's more expensive, and it's gonna hedge out my TIE squadrons, but at the same time it adds a lot of anti-squadron to make up for it. Definitely going to try it out. Plus it's a great excuse to use the new Winter Kit alt art cards.

So you're finally putting to bed who would win in a Star Trek / Star Wars fight?
How many points does a 2AU energy cloud cost anyway?

That feeling when you realize that the MC30 doesn't have a brace, and your sensor teams now do NOTHING.
**** you, Ackbar! **** YOOOOOUUUUU!

Hopefully, I've whittled down one redirect token at least by then, so I can cancel that out instead.
Same as with a Neb-B, with the Redundant Brace Token - hopefully, long range shots have spelt the doom of one of them already.
Its flexibility, that's all.
But, what do I know, anyway... People have already shown me to be inefficient with the Math of the situation. So clearly, I'm wrong anyway.

I'm just a little bitter because the first time I tried out the combo my opponent ran a pair of MC-30s with TRCs and Ackbar on an 80.
Vaporized my Demolisher in one brutal broadside off one of those nasty little bastards, but they both met their fate at the front of an ISD.
I came out on top, but the upgrade to the Glad 2 and addition of Sensor Teams did nothing for me in those particular circumstances.
Edited by TvayumatI face a LOT of rebel bombers (Y wings and A wings). In wave 1 they have been tough enough to shred my tie fighters and still have enough time to bomb my VSDs flat.
In Wave 2, thinking of running a Demolisher Gladiator 2 with Ruthless Strategists, and maybe Nav teams (commanded by Tarkin for tokens to power the ruthless and the nav team).
Run it as escort for my star destroyer.
Any squadrons in blue dice range should be getting hit by 4 blue dice and two auto damage from ruthless (ie should be 4 damage per enemy squadron per turn). With a much bigger defence bubble than a Raider.
In this role the gladiator is more a close in escort for the ISD rather than a fast attack platform which should et it survive better too (of course he is still capable of running as fast attack if needed).

You know, I've been playing this game for months, and this combo has never suggested itself to me. I don't know if I could bear to pass up Ordnance Experts, but the idea of this + Expanded Launchers + a CF dial (2 red, 5 black) and then spending a one-hit black or red to lock down a brace sounds... enticing. ![]()
