400 Empire - Hull Points and Bombers

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So, thinking of switching from my Typical Rebels to some Empire for a while...

So here's a shot at what I think for 2 weeks time...

[ EMPIRE FLEET (395 points)
1 • Imperial I-class Star Destroyer - Admiral Motti - Boosted Comms (138)
2 • Victory I-class Star Destroyer - Phylon Q7 Tractor Beams (79)
3 • Victory I-class Star Destroyer - Phylon Q7 Tractor Beams (79)
4 • Major Rhymer TIE Bomber Squadron (16)
5 • TIE Bomber Squadron (9)
6 • TIE Bomber Squadron (9)
7 • TIE Bomber Squadron (9)
8 • TIE Bomber Squadron (9)
9 • TIE Bomber Squadron (9)
10 • Dengar Punishing One (20)
11 • Firespray-31 (18)
12 • Objectives - Precision Strike - Contested Outpost - Minefields (0)

Lots of Bombers. And TIE Bombers can still anti-squadron their way out of things, doubly so with Dengar offering Counter.

5 point bid at the moment. I might flip that to 3 and take Screed for the base Black Die Shenanigans I will have.

Ideally, I'd like an Advanced there to protect Dengar, but it'd come at the cost of the Q7 Tractor Beams, and I want to try them out...

Also, the Firespray is there because the Kath Scarlet and the Binayre Pirates I made look Fantastic and I want to put them on the Table...

I feel like the boosted comms should go on a VSD, which will more likely lag behind, and the Q7 should go on the ISD, so that it's able to target an MC80 if it needs to.

After using them for a few games, I feel like there's not much point in Slowing down the already slow-as-a-pig MC80.

This way I can set up the ISD on its own, with the Pair of the VSDs on an opposite flank, as part of a Pincer. They can pull an AFMK-II from 3 to 1 or mess up some Corvette movement, letting them get into range.

They'll be closer to the Rhymer Ball - and the ISD can add its range with boosted.

Personally, I'd rather drop the boosted and get another Phylon, but there's no way that's happening, dollars wise :D

Drop 1 tie bomber, you now have enough points for a generic tie advance. Still uses a black die for anti ship, so it will still be useful for antiship.
