Overload Pulse to kill aces?

As I read the overload pulse, Blue(crit): Exhaust all the defender's defense tokens. I realised, that there is nothing stopping these from working on ace squadrons. Even though a crit has no effects on squadrons from a ship. The card effect is very straight forward.

However, there is probably a FAQ for this already.

• Squadrons cannot resolve or suffer critical effects unless otherwise specified.

It does not specify Squadrons.

Ergo, it does not work.

Unfortunately, If you don't take the wording that seriously, then you start to get into some very murky territory... Assault Proton Torpedos doing a Face Up Damage card to Squadrons... Which, of course, we know they couldn't do... But again, there's nothing on the card that says it can't...

So we have to abide by the above rule in Critical Effects, for our own Sanity...


Personally, I would Love to be able to use NK-7 Ions to Discard Scatters... But I know it won't come true.
