So, in celebration of the new movie next week, a couple friends and I are taking the day off and plan on playing a significant amount of xwing.

What type of games do you guys like to run to get multiple people on the table art the same time, including possibly odd numbers of players. 60pt melees? Races? Level up games? I'm hoping to try some new formats

I would try a full on skirmish with 32 point, small ships only, one ship per player. It's fun. Or try out Hunger Games format that one sounds fun.

Heros of the Aturi Cluster? It would suit a bunch of friends getting together and playing for a whole day...

Lots of options that others have mentioned and you can go small with single ships for everyone or go Epic. If you have an odd number though I would suggest a scenario where the Imps and Rebels are in a battle and some scum (the odd guy out) come in to try to capture a bounty from each side.

There are mechanics in some of the scenarios that can be adapted to locking onto a ship either to tractor it from the battle field or board it and take hostages.

"Chewie has Fel in his sights. Its all over for the 181st. Wait!! A YV-666 just popped out of hyperspace and hit Chewie with an Ion Cannon. Its tractoring him away! All wings, target that freighter!"

The Trench Run scenario from Dagobah Dave is very fun.

I cannot stress how much fun I have been having with Heroes of the Aturi Cluster (co-op+'rpg' for 2-6 players). Everything is free, you'll just need to print off some stuff and cut it out before hand. Otherwise, it is a FANTASTIC way to play with your friends. The big thing with X-Wing is you are always playing against your friends. However, this mode you are teaming up for every game, trying to beat the AI Empire ships. So you can talk strats and moves openly with your squadmates. Oh, and each mission scales based on how many people are playing and what average PS level the Rebels are, so its very flexible if someone has to bail early. Plus you can have a lot of fun combining multiple mods and multiple EPTs on you own fighter as you level up (I'm aiming to buy Miranda's ability on my X-wing with ~3 shield upgrades +R2D2 +Predator).
