Detecting Ships passive/active?

By TalosX, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I've been reading over several of the ships with stealth/cloak capabilities. It mentions the differences in active and passive sensors. I'm aware of the difference in reality, but how does FFG Star Wars handle this? I don't remember actually seeing any rules for "detecting ships" in the core.

1) Are there official rules for detecting ships via active and passive sensors? If so, where can I find them?

2) Does anyone have a rough estimate how often ships actually conduct active sensor sweeps? I'm planning a session with my players, and we're going to find out if they can smuggle some goods past an Imperial patrol... and possibly an Imperial blockade.

I've only gone over the vehicles section once, and I was pretty sure I'd just missed the rules somehow. So thank you for pointing it out to me.

The rules for sensors (and comms) are very shaky, so be prepared to handwave or houserule the hell out of them.

If you have the Beyond The Rim adventure book, it has some guidance as to applying sensor checks. I don't have the page references though.
