By bilosta, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Hi all,

I just get Star wars RPG, and i need some help about rules.

Combat:

When is your turn you may perform

a) any number of Incidentals, up to two maneuvers and one action (eg, you may set your gun to stun, aim and fire gun in one turn)

b) only one of above (eg. you may not aim and fire gun at same turn)

So that is for now, i wll continue to read book, and if i need somthing else i will write for help

option a)

You can aim and shoot during the same turn.

Thanks

A is the answer.

Also keep in mind that of the two Maneuvers, one is free. The second one costs 2 Strain to use. You don't have to use it.

And the free Maneuver is free as long as you do not meet or exceed your Encumbrance Threshold (which is 5 + Brawn) by the amount of your Brawn. So, for example, if you have a Brawn of 2, your Encumbrance Threshold is 7. If your total Encumbrance is 9 or more, the free Maneuver is no longer free. It would cost 2 Strain.

Adding to this.

You may exchange an action for a maneuver, thereby allowing you to use 2 Maneuvers in 1 turn without suffering strain so long as you don't perform an action that turn.

Also you can get your second maneuver by using advantage.

Another way of putting all of this:

ACTION - 1 per turn and typically requires a die roll.

INCIDENTALS - No set limit, but use common sense and GM can limit how many and what you may do.

MANEUVER - Maximum of 2 per your turn:

  • First Maneuver costs nothing unless you are carrying too much (in which case it takes 2 Strain).
  • There are several ways to get a 2nd Maneuver with varying costs,
  1. Cause 2 Strain "damage" to your character.
  2. Forego using your Action. Sacrifice it for a 2nd Maneuver instead.
  3. Expend 2 Advantage rolled during your Action's roll.

Also, you can do them in any order:

* Two maneuvers, then an action

* Action, maneuver, maneuver

* or maneuver, action, maneuver

Force and Destiny

Thanks to all

You can only have a maximum of 2 maneuvers.

You can only have a maximum of 2 maneuvers.

unless you get certain signature abilities. But no career in Force and destiny can do this at this time.

You can also be given an extra Maneuver outside of your turn. This comes from the GM, usually, and doesn't violate the "two Maneuvers in your turn" limitation. See page 206 of the Force and Destiny core, the last paragraph (continues onto page 207) for the skinny.

You can only have 2 Maneuvers, but a Talent that allows you to use a maneuver as an incidental (eg Quick Draw) allows you to effectively have more.

You can only have two Maneuvers in your own turn. But you can get other Maneuvers during the round that are outside of your turn.

And that's also a good point about Talents like Quick Draw that convert activities that are usually Maneuvers into Incidentals.
