Testimonial Leads = Suspects?

By Big Head Zach, in Android

When Blaine's Plot card (or any game effect, for that matter) references the moving of Suspects, is this the same as the Testimonial Leads?

Also, when I follow a Testimonial Lead and choose to place Evidence, am I required to place it on the Suspect shown on the Lead marker? Rulebook doesn't seem to specify, and it seemed weird that I could affect any Suspect based on a lead specific to a suspect.

The testimonial lead represents the suspect's location on the map. Evidence is placed on the suspect sheet, however.

But, if I follow the Testimonial Lead for Mark Henry, am I required to place the evidence marker on Mark Henry's suspect sheet?

No, that one's specifically mentioned in the rulebook. You're talking to Mark Henry, but remember, only one of the suspects actually turns out to be the murderer. The others are witnesses that you're questioning about the murder. Info you get from Mark Henry could incriminate himself, or it could be about any of the other suspects (it has to be placed in a suspect's testimony file, however).

Well put. Thanks again!

So Kevin and Big Head, that means that each suspect in a specific murder case will have a token on the board and that when investigated turns up Testimonial evidence and then is moved on. Right?

So in a 3 player game, there are 4 suspect tokens floating around the board, as well as 1 Physical Evidence Lead and 1 Document lead? Although, I suspect that each case will have a different number of open Document and Physical leads, based on the number of players.

For the Testimonial leads, that's correct. Each detective on his/her detective sheet seeds the board at the start of the game with 1 document and 1 physical lead as well, so that every detective starts out near some leads to investigate.

Kevin,
Thanks! Much clearer.
Did I mention I’m looking forward to this one? Any chance of you giving us a hint of when we can preorder Android or when it’s shipping? Just thought I’d throw this one is, since I had you here. :->

It already shipped. It'll be in stores next week along with Cosmic Encounter and Talisman.

Thanks Kevin. Looking forward to ordering it!

I'm sorry, but I still don't get it.

So, alright, there's testimonial evidence. These I can follow up on suspect tokens (i.e. 4 in a 3-player-game). Then there is at least one physical and one document lead, setting up at least six counters in a 3-player-game. And THEN the detectives may place additional phyiscal and documentary leads. With 1 and 1 for every detective this means 12 counters on the board where you can follow up leads in a 3-player-game?

I'm pretty sure that after reading Kevin's answers it will look like this:

1) Suspects/testimonial evidence: 1 per player plus 1

2) Physcial Evidence: 1 per player

3) Documentation Evidence: 1 per player

Hope that helps Mike!

Actually, it does, Jay. I think I understand now.

I was wondering: Since Testimony Lead Markers represent suspects, is the corresponding Testimony Marker removed from the game if a suspect is eliminated (through hit tokens)? I think it would be logical, but I didn't find anything in the rules on this topic.
