nasty defiance combo

By TerrorScream, in Star Wars: Armada

I noticed the defiance card is a dice of any colour not just black, which while I'm sure many will default to black, I'm more interested in blue dice to fish for crits to trigure my ion cannons.

long rank NK7 ions or an overload pulse looks pretty mean, especially if you get the pulse off the front arc before you broadside them. NK7 with an intel officer also looks good.

and lets not forget the leading shots for rerolls at long!

pretty solid way to make rebel ions worth it since we dont have as easy access to them as the imperials.

what are your thoughts on it?

I am wanting to use Defiance with XX-7 turbolasers, ECM, Engine techs and Dodonna.

That black dice will really help in getting the second critical hit that causes the trolls. Choosing 1 faceup damage card from 4 is one of the most fun moments in the whole of the armada game for me.

Defiance is nasty, it's the fact it delivers twice if you can double arch with a front and side (which is not that hard)at bue dice range that's four dice from the front ( black, red, two blue) and seven from the side( black, 3 red, 3 blue) before adding a second concentrate fire dice to one shoot ( 12 dice in the face.....) add in your favourite mix of xi7,intelligence officer, leading shoots.

The only down side to this is home one is also brilliant........but two MC80s is not..........

Spoilt for choice......

Defiance + Leading Shots is great if you're playing with Ackbar. I would almost always go with blue dice at long range for that very reason.

This is why I'm not sure I will ever get around using Defiance. As good as it is, Home One is just better.
