Ghost (w/o phantom) vs Decimator who will win?

By Marinealver, in X-Wing

LET'S GET READY TO RUUUMMMBLLLLLLEEE...............!

It is the battle of the 0 agility titans that is not in epic. In the red corner we have the newcomer weighing in just shy of 40 points, the VCX-100 Ghost. and in the green corner the older but more experienced weighing in at over 40 points the VT-49 Decimator.

:o Well if you take a look at the stats alone Ghost hits the hardest at 4 firepower making it look he will always win in a straight up fight.

 Sure if all you do in a bout is nothing but right crosses but in a real fight there is a lot of hooking and jabbing and that is what Decimator is expert at. He can swing around Ghost's arcs and hit Ghost where Ghost can't hit back and being just as tough as Ghost if you are not hitting you are losing.

:o Sure but Decimator has a bit of a glass jaw with only 4 shields, sure the 12 hull gives Decimator the same number of hit points but Decimator will be feeling pain faster than Ghost will. Not to mention Ghost has shown some fancy foot work with Hera being able to surprise opponents with superb positioning

 Well all pain means is that you are growing up and Decimator's experience will show even in a straight up match. The RAC has demonstrated the highest skill with 8 PS in a straight up fight this technique will hit first. If the Hera is being used to bring it in close to lock up and avoid those hits well the Oicunn technique has proven to be exceptionally well in those matches.

Who will win the bout of the Titans!!!! Send us your comments bellow!

the TLTs will probably win

Lists do not exist in a vaccum, it is entirely a function of how each is kitted out and what escorts them.

Ghost (w/o phantom) vs Decimator who will win?

Math.

Ghost (w/o phantom) vs Decimator who will win?

Math.

wont help dice and math don't mix

Dice ARE math.

Dice ARE math.

only in unlimited number of throws.

statistics doesn't work on short spans

pretty sure dice are actually physics

and just a little bit of spite

The answer is FALCON!

The real answer is no one.

Brobots

Well in that match up the decimator has no reason to joust so it'll fly away then come in from the flank, going of the article it's more likely the ghost will fly like a shuttle or yv666 which isn't so bad with a rear arc but without it the PWT is a massive advantage.

Well if you're taking them in a vacuum with no upgrades, you've got Hera against a Patrol Leader. Hera has repositioning ability, PS advantage, and more attack dice. The Deci has a turret.

Which means...they're pretty evenly matched. *Gasp!* Two 40-point zero-agility ships are balanced against each other?!?!?

In reality, you're more likely to see a kitted out Hera against a kitted out Chirpy. I think the Ghost will win in that case because, with the right crew upgrades and Reinforced Deflectors, it can mitigate something like 2-3 damage per round, and it can start getting evade tokens before the shields drop (via Jan+RecSpec, for example). The Decimator's mitigation from Isard is one per round, and doesn't kick in until the shields come down.

Without knowing the ghosts dial it's hard to know how well it turns and how useful her ability is, a boosting chirpy is pretty nippy.
