A couple of years ago, someone gave me a game called Shut the Box. If you look it up, the reviews for it are all great. Don't believe the hype. It's about rolling two dice and flipping down little numbers, hoping to knock them all down. It looks like this:
That's really all there is to it. This became a trend for like one Christmas, with a bunch of different versions, fancy boxes, tiles made of shotgun shells. I have no idea why.
Anyway, I decided to put mine to better use. A little bit of sandpaper, a couple of printed cardstock stencils, a pencil and my old woodburning kit later, I had something much more practical. And apparently I can't just put the pic in directly. Maybe a link will work.

Obviously I should have practiced with the woodburning kit a bit more, but overall, I'm pleased with the result. I may take some watercolors to the tiles, get some blue on the Light Side and red on the Dark. If anyone out there has Shut the Box sitting on the shelf collecting dust, this ain't too much work.
