Has anyone tried to use the Support Officer?

What advantage do you get from discarding all your command dials?

And what disadvantages is there to using the Support Officer?

Could someone write a practical example of how a Support Officer is used?

I have Engineering Commands set for a few turns, but the enemy is concentrating on someone else... So I can dump my stack to focus on Concentrate Fire to support instead.

Its a "I made a Mistake" or "My Enemy is messing with my Plan. Time to change my Plan." thing.

You put it on a ship with a high command value.

Basically it lets you reset your entire command dial stack at the beginning of a round.

Makes a slow-reacting ship more adaptable.
