Salvage Yards & Parts Dealers

Narrative events can mean things break. Is there a cost guide in one of the supplements for vehicle repairs? I've been pricing smaller nonessential systems like a refresher at 1% of the vehicle's base cost, salvage, and up to 20% for "after market" essentials such as life support or power plant.

Obviously this model isn't One Size Fits All, but I'd like to know I'm in the ball park.

There are prices for engine upgrades, and I would assume that a wholesale engine replacement would probably be at least two or three times that amount, given that with an upgrade there is presumably some sort of trade-in value on the old unit.

I think “Fly Casual” has a lot of ship components in it, at least as upgrades. If you needed to do a wholesale replacement, then I would think a similar rule could potentially be applied.

As for something smaller, like replacing a refresher, I would ask how much it should cost to do a bathroom remodeling of the same type in the “real world”, and then consider that shipboard systems tend to be a lot more expensive because they have to be a lot more compact and efficient.

For everything else, if you don’t want to just “wing it”, I think there are some resources from the WEG version of the game which might be useful to you, and you could convert them to use with FFG without too much difficulty.

Honestly, since good double wide mobile homes can go for nearly 80k-100k used which is almost the cost of a light freighter new, for anything that has a real life equivalent I'd just compare the price to a mobile home version. Maybe up it by 20%. From a cursory trip through my memory Credits seem very comparable to US Dollars in this system.
