Hoth Ground Assualt for Xwing

By Croste, in X-Wing

I built a trench run. A RotJ Death Star run. Now Im looking to adapt Hoth Assualt to Xwing. But Im only going to move forward if I can find At-Ats to scale of the Xwing models.

What should I use?

Is Micro Machines too small?

How about the Think Geek flat metal models you bend to shape?

I dont have either to scale next to the Xwing ships to see if they are to my likeing.

Any suggestions would be apprieciated.

Thanks in advance.

Wow he is difficult to watch.

I also was inspired and you can see more here just in case you hadn't seen it before.

I used Micro Machine AT-STs but the rest is from an old kit set called "Battle of Hoth" which is still available from ebay. Also I would say that Mel's Miniatures is a great source of models from Shapeways and they also do AT-ATs and other suitable models at X-Wing scale..

Ohoho wow dude. You do realize you just dissed the guy that posted that, right?

Like, ****. That's cold and incredibly lacking in tact.

And wildly subjective. I find Joe's videos pretty entertaining.

But it's also the right thing to say~

Tact might get you in some doors, but a decent rocket launcher will get you in more of them.

And... that makes you the arms dealer?

Not tryin to diss. Just say his style wasnt my cup of tea. I viewed it as constructive critisism. If you was offended my apologies. Just sayin that I found it a bit out of my league I suppose.

Too many people looking for problems that arnt there. Everhone off the PC train.

Here is some of my own constructive criticism. You don't actually need to give constructive criticism ever and it's still better to avoid it unless you have built up a very good and trusting relationship with the recepiant and the other person actually wants it.

Also avoid constructive criticism entirely if you lack a tactful delivery even if someone asks you for it. Let them know you are bad at it and politely decline the request.

Here's some of my own constructive criticism. You can find to-scale walkers on mel miniatures. Also, another thing to consider is to put a clear plastic panel over your terrain, so you can play a regular game of x wing in addition to ground assault. If you've got a spare set of obstacles you could paint the asteroids to look like mountain tops and the debris fields to look like clouds.

Thank you everyone.

Enjoy your day.

This! Here's a pic of my walkers from Mel Minitatures (I haven't painted up the snowpeeders yet, they're so small I get panic attacks just holding a paintbrush near them):

Does Mels seem to be in correct proportion to the ships?

Or the Commander Assualt set, is it proportional?

I tried the Metal Earth punch out. It became a tree ordament.
