I sinscerly hope TFA falcon is just some cards and a square dish for players to put on the old falcon model
Two versions of unique pilots in same faction.
I just hope we get ETA-2 so we can get that sick shadowed Vader one.
And then R2-d2 as a pilot for one and Anakin as an ETA-2 only "Astromech". R2-D2 is the greatest pilot on the Galaxy.
How much does Dash get played and compare that to Dash <Crew>. If you have an alternate pilot ability which ever pilot ability is the most powerful will be used. As for trying to use points to adjust it just would be too much. Best keep the unique pilot with their name and ability to their ship. If you are going to change the pilot ability you also should change the faction or ship too.
That has little do do with them having the same name though. Dash pilot sees play because it's a good card and Dash crew doesn't see play because it's not particularly good, not because they share the same name.
R2-D2 crew and R2-D2 astromech have both seen play. So have Chewbacca crew and Chewbacca pilot. And Vader crew and Vader pilot. Two cards sharing the same name will both see play if they're both worth playing in different lists.
Edited by WingedSpiderOnly 50% serious. Wouldn't mind seeing a few star characters get 1 more version of themselves: Luke, Vader, Fett...when prequels hit add Anakin, Kenobi, and Snips.
C'mon, you know you want little Ani-Skywalker/Vader to exist. A better ability for him might be You may equip an R2 Unit regardless of slots. Your PS is equal to that R2 units point cost.
2 I would be fine with (Fett might be problematic since he already has 2 mediocre abilities)...4 would be silly...or would it be Awesome!?!?
Short answer: no.
Long answer: Noooooooooooooo!!
there needs to be a scum han and lando

Or just a scum YT. They could do YT-2000 if they want to avoid doing a Falcon repaint.

Why? Lando runs a mining operation and is a Rebel general. Is there anything in the canon that suggests otherwise?
Same with Han, we know he was a smuggler, but that changed the minute he set foot on the Death Star.
How would they qualify for Scum?

I think he wants it to represent them from before they fell in with the rebellion.

And a Luke (Skyhopper pilot), and more of that?
It'd be a right mess should they implement that.

Before joining the alliance Han was a smuggler adn Lando was a con man and scoundrel

Lando's early scum life is being developed more in Rebels and in the EU he retired from the military soon after the events in ROTJ and continued being an "independent, private" busisness man.
As for Han - I won't discuss rumors - TFA screens in 2 weeks, but the Han Solo antology movie now casting definately focuses on his earlier scum life.

Easily. You are not born part of rebel scum, you fall in.
Due to different part of life and different style they can easily have different abilities.
And yeah, the thread name suggests same pilots on different ships within faction.
So it's more about Luke-Ewing or Wedge-T70.
And who knows, most empire pilots were Tie-Ln once, and many would grow into new roles in time.
Howl-Defender would be fun xD
Horn should have been in a x wing not an e-wing, he was a member of rogue squadron
As a player of star wars miniatures, I say not a great idea. I think by the time they were done there were about 8 different han solos, and it started to feel a little like a money trap, and there was a lot of power creep. later versions of han made some earlier versions nearly obsolete.
The idea isn't bad for people who like a narrative to their game, they want to see Luke Skywalker be something special, and if that means a new pilot called Luke Skywalker that's better, then that's a good thing.
Problem is, that also starts to introduce power creep, because the current Luke is actually quite good, the problem is he isn't good enough to make for the issues with the X-Wing.
The other issue is, that this is a horrible idea for tournament players, because it creates artificial limits on list building.
Instead of getting "Pilot X" who would synergize quite well with "Pilot Y" we now have two copies of X and can only use one of them.

I would love Wormie in a T-16! Windy and Biggs too! They were capable of some operations outside of atmosphere you know. Make this happen! Womp rats, mynocks, exogorths, I wanna bullseye all of it!

Every point you mentioned can be argued in reverse.
When "Pilot X" would synergize too well with "Pilot Y" you can now have both both in the game but only choose one to play at any given time.
Also while it creates limits on list building it also creates options. "Pilot X" fits deals with normal situations better while "Pilot X, ver 2" does something similar but deals with gameplay meta X better.
TBH, most pilots who flew more then 1 ship in the story were either video game characters or fairly major characters - off hand can think of Han, Chewie, Wedge, Luke, Leia, Poe's mom, Nien Numb, Lando in canon (excluding Legends - there were a lot more in EU).
