When I do a double red and hand my dial over to my opponent, does he have access to my Unhinged Astromech and Adrenaline Rush and Dash's pilot ability

By ParaGoomba Slayer, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Do they? Can he reveal a red maneuver and treat it as white/green with adrenaline rush/unhinged? Can he choose to trigger Dash's ability and make me not suffer the consequences of obstacles?

Unhinged yes no, Adrenaline Rush no. Continuous non-optional effects are in effect, but neither of these qualify. Also, any decisions (whether or not to use Adrenaline Rush, whether or not to use Dash's ability) are still up to you.

The rule only says they manipulate your dial, and that they cannot turn it to a red maneuver. They gain no control over anything else.

Edit: I had not realized that the wording on Unhinged (also R2, Nien, and TIE Mk 2) makes the color change optional.

If you have Adrenaline Rush you can use it to turn that second red maneuver white and avoid the whole mess.

Unhinged Astromech is an optional effect, like Dash and Adrenaline Rush.

If you have Adrenaline Rush you can use it to turn that second red maneuver white and avoid the whole mess.

You could either forget to use AR when you did a double red, or intentionally not use it in order to save it for later or to attempt to get your opponent to show where he's moving his ships by seeing where he chose to move yours.

Your opponent would not have access to your abilities.

He can't set a Red maneuver so Adrenaline Rush doesn't help although you could likely have used it to avoid the situation. There is no way he can force you to burn that EPT if that is his goal.

Unhinged is still an option you must chose which will prevent him from selecting a red that uses it to turn green. I could maybe see him wanting those expanded maneuvers to put you somewhere you don't want to be but it isn't going to work that way.

I don't know what Dash has to do with any of this. He can NOT prevent you from utilizing it if he tries to park you on a rock but why he'd want to let you ignore obstacles is beyond my limited comprehension.

In case Dash had one health left and he wanted to kill him with IG-88A's ability instead of the asteroid, or to keep him alive for an FCS Weapons Engineer TL on something else.

Can he reveal a red maneuver for you? No, because the rules clearly say it must be a non-red maneuver.

Can he trigger Adrenaline Rush? No, because he can't choose a red maneuver for you.

Can he trigger Unhinged Astromech? No, but you can if he chooses a 3-speed maneuver for you.

Can he choose to trigger Dash's ability? No, because it's not his pilot. Just the same way you couldn't choose to trigger one of his pilot's abilities.

The opponent's interaction on the double red scenario ends once he's chosen the new maneuver for you and handed the dial back. What you do with it from there is up to you.

As a newb, I didn't even know the double red rule existed. Thanks for bringing it up. Back to the books for me.

By moving Dash onto a rock, you force them to barrel roll for an action if they want to be able to attack

The opponent doesn't need to use Dash's ability to make that happen. Using the ability is something Dash's owner may want to do to make that a possibility.

I guess there are a couple very niche reasons why a player may want his opponent's Dash to use the ability when getting forced onto a rock but those situations are going to be very rare.
