The Ghost!

By Crabbok, in X-Wing

Eh, I still prefer the Blaster Turret on my Jan Gunboat.

So with Kanan on a YT I can basically do a white and PTL every turn like it isn't even funny?

They made an error calling the phantom the first ship to arrive without a non unique pilot.

The second ship in the Ghost Expansion Pack is the attack shuttle, a worthy addition to any Rebel squadron. The attack shuttle offers three attack, two agility, two shields, and two hull, as well as the focus, evade, and barrel roll actions. Notably, it is also the first Rebel ship for X-Wing Standard Play that comes without the acquire target lock action and the first ship in X-Wing for any faction to arrive without a non-unique pilot.

IG-2000 would disagree

IG-2000 can disagree all it wants, they're right when they specify the first rebel ship without any generics

And you'd be right if that's actually what the full sentence said.

EDIT:

I'd think Dorsal Turret has just officially killed the Blaster Turret. Other than I'm not buying 5 Ghosts....

If they only include one DT in the expansion I'm going to have to wreck something.

The card fan shows 2 Dorsal turrets, 1 of everything else.

So first a 4 dice forward shot, then a 3 dice aft shot... THEN a turret shot? And With Zeb on board so you can't even move into blocking position and avoid the turret?

No. The Phantom title allows the Ghost to use it's rear arc, still with it's primary weapon. Only two shots, normal attack then extra turret shot.

Being docked only lets you choose to do your 4 dice primary out of either the front or rear. You don't get an extra shot when docked except from the turret.

Why would Ezra be a Pilot of the Ghost? He's only flown it once!

I like that now we'll have the "expensive" combat HWK at 22 points for the base with TLT or the "Budget" combat HWK at 19 points base with Dorsal Turret. I'm not sure there's really a need for the budget HWK, though.

I missunderstood the Reinforced Deflector Shield... For some reason I was thinking damage cards, not just damage. So yes it would be useful on the Shuttle as well.

So the Phantom only has attack 3, but lets the Ghost shoot attack 4 from the rear "special" arc. I guess it pumps more power out of those rear facing guns when docked. Twin Laser turret on this thing is going to be sick.

Does the TLT still work with the Phantom/Ghost combo? It's two attacks made as a single attack, right? Or does the no additional attack stipulation interfere?

So with Kanan on a YT I can basically do a white and PTL every turn like it isn't even funny?

Yea. Completely unrestricted timing on stress removal too. That has to open up some doors.

I guess Hera is a heckuva pilot! Based on the show, I would have never guessed this was a 0 agility ship. And it has a lot more shield than I would have expected too... I would have figured maybe 2 agility and only 3 or 4 shield, but what do I know...

Don't think it will work with TLT. Read last line of Phantom title.

Yeah, much like Gunner.

Ok... um... ok! So far, as an Imperial and Scum player, I see no reason as of yet to add this as an "auto-include" to my collection...

Oh who am I kidding? I'll probably buy it anyway, but at least I don't have to be in a "hurry" to buy it.

FFG has impressed me once again. The Ghost looks like it's the opposite of Fat Turrets in that you actually want to be aggressive. I was really worried it would be another fat PWT, but I can already tell it's going to fly very different than what we're used to seeing.

The Zeb crew paired with 4 primary attack encourages you to get into the face of aces, force a bump, then unleash 5 reds against a token-less Soontir.

Though Soontir will got a shot off at you first. Not that its enough to stop retaliation. Really, Zeb mixed with Hera seems incredibly potent.

I missunderstood the Reinforced Deflector Shield... For some reason I was thinking damage cards, not just damage. So yes it would be useful on the Shuttle as well.

Large Ship Only.

Bah. I can't wait to turn YTs into Bumper Cars, with Intimidate.

My worst nightmare!

You would at least get a single attack with TLT even if you use the Phantom. It's considered two separate attacks against the same target.

I could see them FAQ it either way, but at a minimum you'd get one attack with TLT.

The space for the generic HWK on the Rebel side is going to be pretty narrow. The Attack Shuttle has a 3-dice primary and picks up the Evade and Barrel Roll actions for a comparable price point (based on the 20-point Ezra, I'd guess Zeb clocks in at 17-19). The 1-point difference in total health is largely made up for by the shields and Evade action of the shuttle.

Yes, the Shuttle is a Large Ship. That isn't what he was misinterpreting. Thankfully, it is Large Ship only. Because these would be freakin annoying on B-wings.

Large Ship Only.

By Shuttle I mean the Lambda Shuttle, which is a large ship.

Comparing Heras cost of 40 to the Decimator patrol leader? The Ghost gets sensors, turrets, evades a crew abilty... jeezzz

Yup. Hell, any low-PS large base ships with Zeb as crew are now going to make truly excellent blockers...
