Running 2 (or any) Mc30s

Of course he is.

But there is no downside listed there. Like the fact that you can only use him once against one attack.

The Why is very important.

sure, discarding defense tokens might as well be once against one attack, and cost 2x the price

Admonition and Walex

Admonition and Walex

13 points vs. 4 lol

The one turn that you need the MC30c to hang in there from a big attack (most likely from the gunnery'd ISD or MKII), 4 points for Lando is a great price to pay even if it's a one time use. 13 points is just toooooooooo steep for me on a ship that's already near the MKII in price for 4 hull. Not to mention Redirects is arguably the weakest defense token these days vs. capital ship fire.

I don't mind spending on upgrades to ensure my pain delivery systems get to their target intact, to win me the game. I'll take both!

So wouldn't you rather get an extra benefit out of those weak redirects by cancelling another die? ;)

Not for an extra 14 points no. But that's your call :D

I want to run an MC30, or two, in a tournament on Monday - Ho woes this list look?

[ REBEL FLEET (391 points)

2 • Assault Frigate Mark II B - Intel Officer - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (86)

3 • Assault Frigate Mark II B (72)

4 • MC30c Torpedo Frigate - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits - Foresight (78)

5 • YT-2400 (16)

6 • YT-2400 (16)

... 12 points for Lando and Admonition.

"Whatever you don't reroll to a blank, I am going to cancel."

Now the question is if your running two or more MC30s with APT do you go defensive with MM to make sure you get in range or do you hulk out and go bat s@&t crazy with Doddona for max crit pain.........

Per the list above, I like Admonition better than Foresight if I'm not running Mon Mothma. Unless you never plan to close, but then what's the point of having the MC30?

As for Admonition vs Lando. I think they're relatively balanced. Lando only really gets full value if you play against a ship with lots of dice. Lots of smaller ships with smaller attacks means Lando will have a smaller impact. Furthermore, Lando introduces more RNG into the, particularly if you are rerolling single hits on red and black dice. On those dice you can actually increase the damage. Lando has better upside, but that upside is incredibly rare (turning 12 damage to 0 or something like that). Admonition at least guarantees at least one negation, and with practice negate 6-8 damage (before running like mad at speed 4). If you run the Lando numbers, on average will negate 6 damage from an 8 dice 12 damage ISD2 perfect roll. That of course requires you to fly into the front arc, and the ISD to roll that well. More often, you'll be taking less damage from less dice with the opportunity to reduce less.
