I'm almost positive that the line in the "Thank the Maker" post saying that Special Modifications is available now was a mistake, and it will be released next Thursday. Doesn't mean your FLGS might not have it in, but it won't be officially released until next week.

When the office declares it so.Stores can and do put stuff out early and if you're a small FLGS you likely can get away with not caring if you're selling product before the official release date. There are so many stores that I doubt FFG can make them all adhere to official dates.

Mine doesn't get the books in until Friday, so I can't get them until then. And no, I can't go during my lunch hour and pick it up to browse during the second half of the work day. I've tried that. They don't have them inventoried until that evening. *Sigh*

So is there any other reason than the fact that Special Modifications has been listed as Shipping Now since the 8th in the FFG Upcoming page that people think it should be avaialble this Thursday? I haven't seen anything else to give me hope it will actually be released then.

Our group originally had six players, one of which was a Bounty Hunter. But that player has since dropped out, so no whining about that missing expansion yet...

Statistics. Since I've started tracking, every book has been released on a Thursday. Additionally, five out of six books took 16 days to arrive once their status became "Shipping Now," and the sixth book took 9 days. This Thursday will be day 16.

Also, the recent news post "Thank the Maker" said that Special Modifications is now available. Which wasn't quite true, but it does hint that FFG is expecting it to be out rather soon.

Yes, statistics aren't 100%, but I think, based on the history of this line of products, the odds are strongly in favor of a release this Thursday.

I had two options I looked at when pre-ordering. One said release date the 24th the other 21st. I was hoping the 21st one being early was just indicative of them shipping on the 21st for a 24th arrival? So I went with it. But, it's the 22nd and still no notification it has been shipped - still "We've received your order!".

Actual sightings is encouraging! Our group doesn't play again until Sunday, so maybe I'll have it in my hands by then.

Just called my FLGS. They say that they should have the book tomorrow.

And now my test of willpower begins. Do I roll successes and hold out until Mini Market delivers their package? Do I roll failures and knuckle under, buying the book from the FLGS before the weekend? Do I get a Triumph and Mini Market has the package on my doorstep on friday? Or do I roll a despair, buy the book from the FLGS, forget to cancel my MM order, get a second copy and then lose the FLGS receipt so I can't return the first?
