I'd be ok with maybe a PARTIAL episode 7 wave. IE one ship for each faction from episode 7, so long as there are some classic goodies from the rest of the universe in there too. Interdictor, Liberty, Arquittens, etc.
Wave 3 announcement before Christmas?

That's because we keep it confined to its own Thread where possible, as it is polite to do so.

When Maritime Telephone & Telegraph merged with other telcos into Aliant, the new company was still attempting to align processes five years later. A lot of changes don't happen until a senior manager or director has had enough time to figure out what is actually being done and how it is different in it's various forms, then has the influence & political capital to make the change happen (because nobody likes change).
FFG and Asmodee are probably 1/10 the size but on the other hand they are on different continents, I'm sure there are still changes going on.
I don't really see why it matters in a debate about wave 3 but thanks for the history lesson lol.

I agree it doesnt relate to wave 3 because FFG would have probably already been well into their production cycle of Wave 3 by the time the buyout happened. This could however affect Wave 4.

I doubt they were working on wave 3 in November of 2014.

I talked to one of their reps in person and they in fact were working on it in January of 2015 which is still long before the buyout. I dont have any proof of that conversation so its up to you if you believe me but I stick to my statement.
Edited by OverdawgOne thing I thought of last night - shield dials go to 6. If the shield-happy Mon Cals only go to 4, what sort of behemoth warrants six?
I'm going out on a limb here. We will never see a ship with 6 shields printed on its card.
What we MAY see, is a defensive retrofit that gives +1, or maybe even +2 shields to one particular sector. The 6 gives FFG plenty of wiggle room when it comes to giving out extra abilities.
It's possible that a ship could have really uneven shields. 5 or 6 up front, but 1 on the sides and rear. That'd be fun and interesting.

Epic ships don't get their own waves.
Guys: TFA Core Set 2016!
Given the seemingly wide selection of locales shown in trailers, with T-70s active at least on a temperate world and above the frozen planet of Starkiller Base, it isn't unreasonable to assume we'll see some kind of fleet support for the fighters, especially in the process of attacking a First Order base. It was logical to see no such support at Yavin in Ep.IV, as that battle featured the Empire coming to the Rebels in a situation where snub fighters were the ideal Rebel choice. Why risk any of their capital ships needlessly? Going after Starkiller would logistically closer resemble attacking the second Death Star, a battle which featured a plenitude of capital ships.
That considered, I could see Wave 3 featuring Finalizer, some kind of Resistance cruiser or two (depending on size) and maybe a mixed fighter pack with TIE/fo, T-70, as well as things like E-wings and TIE defenders. Ideally, I'd like to see more civil war era ships released before or alongside TFA ships, but the possibility of a TFA Wave 3 can't be ruled out as none of us has seen what is in the movie. (That said, if the earlier assertion of work on Wave 3 back in January proves accurate, it may reduce the probability of that wave including TFA ships. I guess we'll see...)

That'd be a really interesting ship to field tactically but flankers are so ubiquitous & such a hard counter I doubt it'd see much play. Maybe with titles that allowed lots of shield tomfoolery? Perhaps you get 10 shields to distribute as you see fit?

I hope not - we've only just got to the full, complete game & I was dumb enough to end up with two core sets (minus the imp side of one). I don't need a third range ruler...

The big question in my mind is how Finalizer will something other than "Yet another pointy triangle of boom." Sure, it's a slightly different triangle but what advantage does that bring to Armada? It's just different enough that a title in an aces pack just wouldn't feel right.

I think a Force Awakans core set is quite likely, but I wouldn't expect it to come instead of further OT ships, but in addition to, as we've seen in X-Wing.
The Finalizer has a substantially different look from an ISD and looks very cool in my opinion. There's not the slightest chance of it being a title for the ISD model, I'd bet my trousers on it.
I certainly wouldn't mind a third range ruler, or indeed a fourth, so you can always use one that doesn't go further than you need it to.
FFG
We have enough squadrons for a long time especially because you have relegated them to such a almost no existent role. If you can't see where the new meta of boring gun lines is going....sorry, you will soon enough.
Upgrade the Nebulion Bs, outdated already and needs a points reduction.
No more large ships for awhile
More Admirals
Not more triangle ships for Pete's sake for a while ...because I said so.
More fighter based carriers!!!!!
Rebel ships between 54-64 points defensive beast low attack 4/5 squadrons slots
Rebel ship between 84-100 something also low on attack and high on Squadrons...get these squadrons into the meta....force them in. Should have put a 20% minimum of fighter anyway. It is armada not fight if the capital ships...retarded as heck.
Get the game up to 500 points where it belongs, motel be to buy a bigger table and lengthen their attention spans and forget all this bs tourney nonsense that is forced into causual games amount people who don't know each other well.
Imperials. Two non wedge ships like in the 55-75 point range. One small bass one large but smaller than VSDs. Make one a juicy carrier for squadrons as well.
Get it done....this thing is alrrady stalled and I haven't even played wave 2. Just made countless fleet builds from 400-800 points. Seriously, why would you not play Ackbar unless you are just wanting to mix things up. Ship of the line game until they disrupt that, Ares tried selli you that already and I thought you decided to go another way, and squadrons are still cool but an after thought. $1000 wasted so far, hope they turn it around quick.
I should have waited to see wave 4 before going in so heavily. I got a terrible feeling about wave III. They have a chance, but will they figure it out or prefer the X-wing approach 3-5 ships vs 3-5 ships for tournament speed and continue to make squadrons an after thought. Should move more towards carrier warfare and away from the Age of Sail.
Edited by ColGeneralVatutinwe must be playing different games
I agree, squadrons are much more powerful in wave two, firesprays and liberty title for the mc80. Those things are game changers.

2nd point why do you care if they have a tournament based rules set when you clearly don't think that they should? I mean you can always play with whatever rules you want
Trollin gud bro
Gud? Speak don't grunt. I don't translate grunts mr. Millianial.
I care because the tourney rules dominat every players sense of the darn game. You attempt to play 450 points or 500 and you're a lepper amoung all the people so primed to playing small tourney engagement because of the competition. To everyone 400 points it this ridiculous firm rule. Fantasy flight should have implicitly changed the value of admiral values on the bottom based in total game points: 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800. The lack of admirals is also extremely disconcerting not to mention buying a $35 ship and getting one NK what turbo laser that cost 10 points. 1 stinking card.
And sure there are som points you don't agree with as it was a bold proclamation. However, do you think the points of ships is a worthy addition. Do you think we have enough wedges for awile. Do you think given the tight 400 points we also have enough large ships for a while.
Sure you can focus on one point, but focus on the entire post and you'll see this is legitimate. I haved enough wave one and studied wave 2 up to the release to have played these virtually in my head to see the basic meta.
Edited by ColGeneralVatutinI care because the tourney rules dominat every players sense of the darn game.
If that's true, it's because that's how most people want to play the game. Also tournament play is in fact a big draw for a lot of people and this game wouldn't be as popular without tournament support. The same is true of X-Wing.
As to the rest of your ramblings... It's clear you haven't actually played the game based on your comments.
Do you think we have enough wedges for awile.
Wedges are the iconic shape of the Empire, so it's only natural that we'll see more wedge shaped ships.
Do you think given the tight 400 points we also have enough large ships for a while.
400 points isn't that tight, you can easily fit 3-5 ships in a list at that size. But the point value has not to do with the size of the ship, you could have a large ship that starts at 50 points. Size != power.
I haved enough wave one and studied wave 2 up to the release to have played these virtually in my head to see the basic meta.
I honestly don't think I need to say anything at all... This statement stands on it's own as all the evidence anyone needs to see you don't have a clue.
Sure wedges are iconic but they are boring after a point. There are plenty of non-wedge ships to go after.
I give in the last comment and cry uncle.
3-4 ships is not an Armada. Playing 3 VSD and no fighter squadrons is really not armada.
Understand the tourney scene is popular because people are ridiculously competitive people but there a host of people turned off by the game because of the tournament scene. They could have made efforts to encourage both is what I am saying. By buddies and I just like to rolls some dice and have fun, but a quick game of a few capital ships does not an Armada make.
Edited by ColGeneralVatutinCan you agree on the need to fill in the gaps at certain point levels if not the need to mix up the wedge design, the need for 500 point standard, the need to include a minimum percentage instead of just a maximum % on squadrons, or the rest?
Can we at least agree that no more large ships than 100 are needed for a while and the the rebels need something in the Assult frig and MC80 gap and the imperials need something additional around the glad points and an alternative to the VSD at points somewhere between 80-90 points.
Edited by ColGeneralVatutinGud? Speak don't grunt. I don't translate grunts mr. Millianial.
Look out! Someone's mad internet culture evolved without them. This a sour Gen X'er who's going to tell us they had whatever first but nobody cared because Gen X?
Call me old fashion but people should not have to look up three letters on the internet because someone is too lazy to spell out what they want to say. Devolving into grunt communication is sad. I get the need for some, but these trend of going beyond lol and IMHO etc. is ridiculous. Just say what you mean. I don't many to carry around a dictionary to talk to kids. They need to grow up and learn to communicate like grown ups.
