Wave 3 announcement before Christmas?

I agree with clon. I think theres a high probability of what he said coming to pass.
Hahaha!
You kill me!
I'm expecting nothing from FFG at this point related to Armada. I think the time to tie the game into the movie on release has come and gone. There is no incentive to pimp movie product after it releases purposely.

Can we have some time to digest wave 2?
FFG needs to slow down and wait 6-8 months between release and announcements.
well, are reasoning is that they are not allowed to talk about the ships they are using in wave 3 (thanks Disney) so they have to wait for the movie to releaseHahaha!

So, its cool and all to talk about FO TIEs and T-70s in X-Wing, but not in Armada..?
I feel it'd be an all-or-nothing thing.
Nope I do
I predict wave 3 will be announced immediately after the release of ep.7 and that wave 3 will consist mostly of ep.7 shipsDo you think? I mean honestly it should be any day now right? I really want something to dream about on Christmas Eve!
I believe we will not see Ep7 stuff until Wave 4 at least.
Wave 2 was suppose to be out in July. I would then wager wave 3 stuff would have been out in maybe November/December ish. At the latest Q1 2016.
That means Wave 3 would have already been designed and play tested well before anything was known about ep7. Ya and I know they were privy to some Ep7 info early, but I still do not think Ep7 stuff will be in wave 3. I doubt even in wave 4.
My guess for wave 3 (which is most likely already done) by April.
There will be a fine line between waiting too long like with wave 2 (not their fault) and not waiting long enough because our wives are watching our wallets. ![]()
I bet we are on the short end of that spectrum and we see wave 3 sooner rather then later.
I agree with KAGE...I guarantee we wont see any EP7 stuff before Wave 4 so dont hold your breath on that until 2017. Keep in mind that their testing and production cycle is around a year long and they cant announce anything until they are pretty far in the process in case they need to remove a ship for balancing purposes.

Lots of incentive to use the movie release to push other products. I know I'll be watching closely for any new ships and guessing what they'll be. FFG's working pretty closely with Disney so I think they'd know about new stuff going into the movie.
Christmas does seem like an odd time to make such an announcement, usually folks have a lot going on then. January maybe?
I suspect the reason we have no wave 3 announcement is because it has unrevealed TFA stuff so will be announced around movie release. Otherwise we would have already had the announcement by now as per normal FFG procedures.

More likely to contain rebels content imo.
I would expect something around the 18th as well if they post anything at all. I would expect a FO Star Destroyer / MC80 Librity/ for large ships. The interdictor for a medium ship as well as an assault friget mk 1 (not to familiar with EU ships for rebels) the small imperial cruiser from rebels. Another small ship for the rebels and for a fighter pack I would expect things like the T-70 and the Kwing and the E wing. Also I would think FO ties and the inquisitors tie tie phantom or defender. At least those are what I feel We are most likely to see in the next wave.
can someone explain to me how FO is short for e7?

It means First Order...i.e. the last remnants of the Empire.

Given the typical "escalating trilogy" thing Star Wars does, I don't think we'll see many new capital ships in ep 7. Ep 4 gave us the ISD, CR90, and that's it? Death Star of course but we won't see that in Armada. We might get a first in getting new titles for ships already released (FO ISD, etc). It's still too early for a new core set.
tbh I'd rather not see the EP 7 stuff until more stuff from the OT and the Legends has been used. Then move into EP 7 since FFG wont moving into the Clone Wars ![]()

6-8 months are you freaking kidding me? I don't need a new wave every other week, but the current rate at which they release waves is atrociously slow. If its a monetary issue: don't buy them until you are ready. Just don't try to impose that on the people that can afford a new ship every month.

My cash flow, while healthy, is seasonal. So there better be a wave 3 out by springtime, or I am just going to double my spring order for the custom ships. 2 things are certain. I will have new ships in the spring, and someone will be getting my money.
I don't expect Episode 7 stuff this early. This is for two reasons.
The first is because Finalizer has no clear opponent. If there was a significant rebel starship showing up in Episode 7 we would have had a toy of it depicted already, and FFG would have jumped on that in a hot minute, complete with a fighter pack containing the new starfighters and shuttles. The T-70 and TIE/FO were clearly announced in the trailers, the toys have been released, so FFG went ahead and put these opponents in X-Wing.
The second is because Finalizer will have too much overlap with the just-released Imperial. Let's be honest, it's a First Order re-tooled version of the Imperial, and without significant difference somewhere in stats you don't want to encourage players to pick one and abandon the other. Players are not going to be happy if the slightly-better Finalizer makes their $50 Imperials they've been waiting to have for three months, perceptively obsolete. And with no plans to increase the point count further we're moving into tighter lists where Finalizers would have only one escort. At least a Super Star Destroyer has so much implied firepower that it is in an entirely different class than the Imperial and Finalizer-type.
I think Rebels-era ships are more likely since FFG's X-Wing has started to feature more Rebels content. I'm doubtful on the Immobilizer because it is not a tactical weapon, but I would put more faith on Arquitens, Gozanti, and Pelta-frigates showing up in the near future, along with the GR75 (the last of the canon featured ships barring the SSD and that gunship). On the other hand I'm a little doubtful of a wave that is nothing but small ships, so more EU ships may appear as well.

There are still 2 MC80 Liberty variants that appeared in RotJ. Both the winged and wingless versions were on screen, with the little gunship getting more screen time than the wingless version.
Then, yea we are out of onscreen Canon ships without jumping to another trilogy or to Rebels. Personally I want all the old EU ships, especially the West End Game Ships. They were designed to fill roles in the Imperial fleet, most of those roles remain unfilled by the first two waves.
Edited by cynanbloodbaneI would like to see the game now go into a more LMG mode (Living Miniatures Game) where a new ship and cards comes out every month or two. Imperials have 4 ships to the Rebel 5 so it would be a fine place to start with a new Imperial Ship. I think rather than 1-2 big bursts of wallet damage a more controlled bleed would be better. ![]()

That wouldn't be that different in # of ships per year than all-in waves (2-3 more a year). Also would allow FFG to release counters if the meta gets too stale. I like the idea but the lead time (playtesting & manufacturing) seems prohibitive.

Do you realize that it's been 8 months almost to the day, since we've had any new ships announced? That was Wave 2, announced Here. 8 months later it actually comes out. So even if they announce something new today, we probably won't see it until August of next year. Not like they really need to "slow down".
The "living" side I'd like to see is additional content for existing ships; a Chimaera title for the ISD, and Grand Admiral Thrawn would be nice, plus a few extras. Armada version of Mara Jade as an officer, for example. Additional copies of useful upgrades could be included, too. Small things that probably won't convince anyone to buy another copy of a ship they already bought, but might be worth it as print on demand upgrade packs.
Given that we have the Salvation Nebulon-B, I'd like to see Juno Eclipse as an officer for it.
Doubt we'll see anything of the sort, though. I expect all we'll see is what can be sold with a miniature, and I'll be okay with that, too.
