How far out in the boonies are you? Where's your nearest gaming store (FLGS)?

The gaming store is probably your best bet. If they're properly set up, they'll have some gaming tables that you can use. You can then join (or create) an online network of other players - via Facebook or Meetup, for example - and arrange to meet up for games at the FLGS. At the FLGS people passing through will see the awesome game you're playing. If you're welcoming and inviting, they'll get hooked too, and you'll build your community.

You should try vassal.

I have only a limited number of real-life opponent.

Vassal is where I can find other people to play against.

...it also makes me by too many expansions, since it's easy to try out wild stuff, like 6 firesprays or 3 ISDs :-D

Vassal also has an international meta with many experienced players. It's a fantastic learning tool as much as it is a play hub.

Can you tell me more about the Vassal way to play?

I run/play Armada in ILLINOIS but, only have 1 or 2 other players and would love to play more games.

Another thing to consider is Facebook, there's a lot of X-Wing and Armada groups out there on FB, so if you look for one in your state or area you might find something.

I'v always been open to weekend games, but it's been an issue getting the local guys schedule to allow for it..

Ah yeah. This month is a little odd for me but, I usually run an Armada game every other week. (This month only the 20th is scheduled.)
