I'm a big B fan and I have fluctuated between two similar lists. I'm looking for your thoughts so I can decide what to fly in a small competition this weekend.

List One: (100pts.)

Rebel Operative HWK w/ TLT, Recon Spec & Moldy Crow

The idea of this list is to run the HWK at range 3 around the edge of the board. With Recon Spec and Moldy Crow I get plenty of foci for both TLT shots as well as defense. When the HWK goes, I still have the B's to hammer what's left.

List Two: (95pts. w/ 5 for suggested upgrades)

Gold Squad Y-Wing w/ Ion Turret AND 5 free points

I originally started with this list nearly a year ago before moving to the HWK. The concept was that the Ion would lock a ship down, allowing the B's to follow behind and pounce with full guns at range 1. I used to run it with R1 and an EU for boosting, but I feel that I'd be better suited with something else...

SO

1. should I keep the HWK for it's TLT and synergy

2. should I keep the HWK but drop the Crow title and use those 3 points on upgrading to Rorke, or adding a passenger to one of the B's

3. should I switch back to the Y for the control aspect - and how should I spend those remaining 5 points?

BTW, I don't have a Stress-bot card. I have pretty much everything else.

Personally, I think the TLT focus HWK is a great way to go. Consistently dealing two damage a turn, and with some focus for defense. However, a note about your strategy. I've noticed in my few games against TLT ships that getting in close, inside the Range 1 bubble, is quite troublesome for them to face, and keeping the ships closer together may be better. Then again, I've never used a TLT myself, at least not yet.

id personally would put tac on the HWK rather than recspec. if you slow roll the HWK in the beginning youll have plenty of foci for the combat phases. nothing more annoying than dying with a boat load of focus. if you exchange the crew youre at 99....also id think aobut playing around with the list to put in AC rather than FCS. you get much more mileage out of it because AC doesnt care who your target is
