Not sure is this was asked before but ISD with relentless reduces command dials to 2 instead of 3 does that mean you can still be counted as having up to 3 command tokens ? And would you still count 3 total command value for Contested Outpost or would it be 2 instead?

Your command Value, which is what denotes how many Command Tokens you can have - DOES NOT CHANGE .

It is simply the amount of Command Dials that are set.

RRG, Page 3, "Command Tokens"

• When a ship is assigned a command token, if it has more command tokens than its command value, it must immediately discard one of its command tokens.

Relentless, Title:

"The total number of command dials that must be assigned to your ship during the Command Phase is reduced by 1."

Nowhere does the card say that you reduce your Command Value...

Ergo.

Command doesn't change. Command 3 = 3 Command Tokens Maximum

Relentless reduces command dials only. It does not affect you token count.
