Those black things that hold dials in place, Any Substitutes?

By eagletsi111, in X-Wing

Hi All,

My 13 year old son got a new K-wing for his b-day, when opening the black thing for the dial he pulled it apart and the top piece was dropped and rolled under his bed. I cannot find the piece, so what can I use as a substitute.

Anything from Michaels or anywhere else?

Thanks,

Nuts and bolts.

FFG's new dial covers should work too.

Also FFG customer service is really good about replacing parts, even if it was your fault they're missing.

I guess if you had to, you could use a brad to hold the pieces together. That's going to be tough to replace...

Core sets usually come with one extra dial fastener. Did your Core set come with four? Is the spare still floating around somewhere?

Also, I feel like many of FFG's other games that use those fasteners have come with a spare. Do you have Battlestar Galactica, Chaos in the Old World, Android: Infiltration, or the Star Wars LCG? I'm sure there are many others I'm forgetting.

If you have a large collection, just "borrow" one from a dial you rarely use. But yes, I would also contact FFG - they're usually pretty good with this stuff.

FFG is fantastic for customer service. Just go to their website and send in a ticket. They will probably just send you a new one.

I'd heard that plastic nuts and bolts could be used pretty effectively.

Magnets.

If you play Armada, you certainly don't need as many as you'll have.

They're called "plastic rivets" I think, I had to ask FFG to send me a few since I am quite the fool and managed to lose a couple myself. They sent them out with basically no hassle - great customer service!

Nah, he's a jerk. Use a Ryan.

I was about to say - find an Armada player, they will probably have dozens of extras.
