What a great story and a little tribute in X-wing would be a nice touch. She's canon now too!
Does this need a petition?

Edited by vyragoI'm not exactly sure how appropriate it would be.
It'd need approval from LFL, and probably the family? You can petition FFG all you want, but they probably have the least say out of everyone involved.
Welp, if it's canon, it's canon.
Rebel Aces II: Astromechs Are Fun. ![]()
I vote yes
If the character appears in the movie, she's gonna appear in other merchandise. That's just how Star Wars works. It seems like the parents want their daughter to be immortalized this way.

Dude, I would be insanely thrilled if I was immortalized that way.

This thought crossed my mind. She (the droid) does appear in The Clone Wars as a cameo. The problem with X-Wing is it means R2-KT could get shot down over, and over, and over again. That's the biggest issue I see with it. But I also agree with Reiver: R2-KT is canon now, regardless of the origin for the character.
That is an amazing beautiful story. I hope that R2-KT makes its way into X-Wing.

Just like any other pilot/ crew/ droid in the game getting shot down over and over? I ain't happy about losing BB-8, but it happens... although I do understand the point your trying to make.
My question is, what would the card ability be?

Yeah, but BB-8 isn't named after a Star Wars fan's little girl that died of cancer. I think as Sithborg points out, it's a sensitive subject that needs to be thought out. On the one hand, we honor Katie's memory even more by putting her in a game we love. On the other hand, it may not be the most respectful medium. Personally, I'm for it, but I can see both sides.
I'd be for it, but do we really have to blow her out of the sky in XWMG?
Should make the user harder to hit in some way.

I was thinking she could make a good epic crew member. To my knowledge, we've only seen R2-KT aboard a capital ship -- never in a starfighter.
It's not so much the game itself, as it is using her as a part of the merchandise machine of Star Wars. As far as I am aware, most of the R2-KT stuff has been sold for charity.
Hmm. Good point.

Worse than that, the ship might topple and fall on an asteroid xD

Yeah I'm just going to assume that was written without being aware of the context.
QT-KT is a perfectly canon substitute for a pink droid, and is a reference to R2-KT.

One observation:
R2-KT survived the Clone Wars and subsequently served in the Galactic Empire.%5B1%5D
Get your filthy rebel hands off the lady...
We talked about this on the Nova squadron Facebook page and I suggested that the card be made available for purchase with all proceeds going towards cancer research.
How about an alternate R2-D2 art cart, with R2 and R2-Kt on, wich can only be won at a charity tournament? That would fit the spirit
Well C3-PO crew gets an alternative art version soon, this would be great for R2-D2s version! Having 2 astromechs on it also stresses the crew part of that card.

I'm a big fan of this idea. Collectors gonna collect, feel-gooders gonna feel good, and researchers gonna research.
I'd rather it be done this way than, as others have mentioned, become another cog in the money machine. I mean, I'm all for supporting the money machine in other ways, but for this droid it'd feel off-putting.
I'd support that wholeheartedly. Many, many likes.
You could make her a non-faction-specific crew. Don't make her too powerful, but I'd like the idea of having her as a participation prize for a Cancer Research/Macmillan Cancer Care/Whatever your national equivalent is tournament.
If anyone's worried about game balance, as noted, you could just make her rebel-specific and make her essentially an alternate art R2-D2.
