Tilting MC30s

By SomeKittens, in Star Wars: Armada

Anyone got a bulldog MC30? Most of the ones opened by my playgroup tilt slightly forward. Between this, the listing ISD & ever-crooked Neb-B we've got all three axises covered.

>Place thumb on rear of MC 30
>Gently apply pressure until peg/slot orients level

Problem solved.

Much like the Rebellion itself, the more pressure I apply the more stubbornly it returns to the position shown above.

Maybe they just fly at a negative angle of attack?

Looks straight to me. Your table on the other hand, is wayyyy crooked.

Look at the where the peg meets the slot- The front part of the slot is going noticeably deeper than the back part.

I think he may not have been entirely serious. ;)

Aye, it could be that Squark is tilting at windmills.

(I couldn't help myself...I'm so almost sorry)

I think your point of reference is off - It's the enemy's gate that's down.

Had this same problem. I checked the peg, and compared to my others it was deformed with some of the moulding untrimmed. I've trimmed it down some and the problem is fixed.

Ah, that could be it. Kinda like the aggressive look it gives though (suits the MC30). Don't think I'll be fixing this one.

Looks like it could be a balance issue with alot more weight up front than the rear and were the peg location is.

You should name it Don Quixote.

I see a few possible solutions:

1: If you have a ship you don't want to play with this slot that is produced correctly, it should be very easy to work both out of their ships (minutes of gentle rocking a pulling at most) and swap them. These slots are universal between all ships.

2; Take very small amount of Green Stuff (ask any gaming store, they'll know instantly) and pack it into slot. Coat tip of stand in vegetable oil. Position as desired and leave to cure overnight. Paint clear plastic if you want to avoid detection.

Niiiiiice! You should make a conversion kit and sell it on ebay.

I'd buy one.

My MC30s all sit well, but both both of mine (a Sullust and one I got yesterday) came with a shield dial that has a slightly too large center hole. It just spins freely. I put a little PVA on the inside to keep it from moving, strange they both were like that though.

Mine also had a deformed stand. Just ever so much flash left in the top of the stand that made the MC30 ride at the top on the back side. I too just gave it a quick trim, just a very little at a time, to reform it. Now it fits just fine.

Probably a bad mold from a batch that will disappear when they readjust the machine.

Mine does that too! I thought it was just me, did something wrong while assembling. Double gimp MC30, no wonder it keeps exploding at the worst moments.

I assembled my MC30 tonight and found no tilt and nothing wrong with the stand so I'm pleased with it.

Me three. I have to put something on it to take care of that. My wife is the rebel player and she's not as... careful... as I am about things. I could EASILY see that thing sitting on a 6 at some crucial moment of the game with no idea how it got there or what it should've been on!
