Episode I

The original one-shot which later became the pilot episode of our ongoing campaign.

Episode II

The follow-up to the original, in which we retconned one character out and introduced two new ones.

Episode III

The next upcoming game, in which the party will carry out their first real mission together and learn to trust each other.

Your links are taking me to the Crawl Creator main page, not to any videos. I think you need to save the crawls (somehow) and host them somewhere.

Speaking of which, what's the process for doing this. I'm thinking about trying out the Crawl Creator myself and will want to save the file and post it properly.

You can't save the crawl from the official creator to your local computer, but can save a link to your created crawl. I'm not sure how long the site holds on to those files.

I've had great success using the HTML versions posted by OggDude way back in post #3. I have, however, changed out the files for the star field background and the music, the former to get a higher resolution image, and the latter for better sound quality. (Not a huge, huge fan of the files the originator of the HTML version used for those.)

Also, this past weekend, I played around with some of the font size and placement values to make it a bit more optimized for the TV screen they'll be displayed on. Now, if only I could figure out how to make the "A long time ago..." screen display solid black while that text is on screen...

Doesn't have to be. Either in a plain text editor or a WYSIWYG HTML editor, change the crawl text, and you're all set.

I made this for our third game: Episode II: A Police Story

The webside is pretty well made, but sadly the text has to be the same length as the original or else it'll fade out too early.

Hey, Daffman, What steps do you need to take to use the Crawl Creator you used for your "Police Story" crawl. I noticed that you can download the thing and type in new text online, but, which do you do first, and how do you save the file for use here?

Making a crawl is the easy part.

For me, the hard part is getting the text for the crawl, written in the correct style, that conveys the information needed, and isn’t too long or too short.

That's definitely a challenge, Brad. I think I've finally gotten a decent grip on it after several tries years ago, and making a few passes at my current crawls. The biggest hurdle is approaching the paragraphs as (more often than not) really being just a single sentence. (There are a few exceptions for an introductory sentence in the first paragraph that sets a general circumstance: "It is a period of civil war." or "Luke Skywalker has disappeared." or even just "War!")

These are awesome! I'll have to ask my GM if he saved our "Opening Crawl" text from our adventures and put them in one of these! Thanks for sharing!

I made this abomination from scrap in After Effects as a goof some time back when we started our sort of New Retro Wave inspired campaign.

Super original title and everything!

It looked better before rendering, but I can't figure out what went wrong..

Had Tresk's last session with my zany group over Skype last night. So tempted to hand my next GM a very editorial crawl written from Tresk's perspective and his quest to reclaim Sheila, his custom swoop, from the impound lot.
