January 2016 - Epic Casual League, Ravenstone Games, Columbus OH

By kingargyle, in X-Wing Organized Play

Starting January 5, 2016, Ravenstone Games will be running an Epic Casual League. This is a 300 pt league, with a few house rules.

1. Epic Tournament rules will be followed with exceptions noted here.

2. No more than 12 Tie Fighters or X-Wings are allowed. This is any combination of Tie Fighters or Tie FOs, or T-65 X-Wings or T-70. You may mix them but you can't have more than 12. We don't want to see 21 Tie Fighters on the board.

3. Epic ships are encouraged but not required.

4. The league will use a Round Robin format for the league. MOV will not be calculated.

The league will use Challonge.com to track results and matchups for the various games. Games do not have to be played at Ravenstone but you should plan for a 3 hour match including setup and tear down time.

There is space for 1 more participant. We will be using a Swiss format due to the number of participants. Score will be tracked, but MOV won't be the deciding factor.

League has 12 participants and reached it's max for this season. The rules and challonge on bracket are below.

An Epic casual league, 300 pts. Epic ships are not required but are encouraged.

House rules for this league.

There is a limit to the number of TLTs that can be carried in your squad for the league. We have decided to limit it to a max of 4 TLTs being carried. The main reason is from experience, if somebody is taking an epic ship, there is really no defense if the number of ships is greater than 4. The epic will just melt. We want to encourage people to have fun and emphasise the casual aspect of the league. We don't want to discourage Epic play but encourage it.

You are not locked into the list each week, you may bring a new list each game if you want.

Epic ships will follow the MOV ruling for large base ships, and each section will be worth points and scored separately.

The league will run for 4 weeks. Please respond here if you are interested in playing. Games are planned for a Swiss format (originally round robin), with the top two facing off for an final fight after the Swiss competition is finished.

Winter Kit prize support. Cost is $5 entry fee. Additional prize support based on number of players.

Upgrade card proxies are allowed. You must have the ships and pilot cards. You can use Scum equivalent dials though.

Game times will be 150 minutes.

Event capped at 12 players (space limitiations).
