Just noticed this kickstarter, their Sector 6 spacemat looks quite awesome even if it is a tad expensive. There are some youtube reviews on their mats (not the space mat unfortunately) and the reviewers are quite enthusiastic. Some of their mats (especially Grim North and Ashen Moon) would also make for amazing 'orbital' mats.

I saw these at the Essen games fair; the quality seemed top-notch. I can't say I'm a big fan of the Space Sector 6/7 design (too much colour), but that's a matter of personal taste.

I share that sentiment. I also don't really want a planet on my mat as I prefer to use 3d models for planets. Without being able to see the sector 6 mat in person or at the very least in a review movie on youtube I've decided not to back them. However I'll keep an eye on them in the future for when they launch more mats. I assume they'll use the insane amount of money they generated to at the very least start a webshop.
I backed them and have ordered Sector 6 in 2 halves. I'll let you know what it's like when it comes, hopefully in a few weeks time!
