DP20 in the "Slaved Turrets" artwork. Wave 3 DP20 for sure!

By WWPDSteven, in Star Wars: Armada

FFG has a history of spoiling a release in the next wave with art. Course, that's been wrong from time to time since Tallon's art has a Nebulon B 2... but I think that art exists elsewhere in the FFG Repertoire.

DP20- a beefier Corvette? Could be awesome!

I thought that was an assault frigate mark 1. If so Battle of Kamino here I come!

DP20 corvette i hope not.... ugly

I love card art voodoo! Let there be a DP-20!

Its an Assault frigate MKI not Nebulon.

In X-Wing the Vaksai first appeared in the HWK expansion and they havent released it yet either. They have started with black sun fighters like the kihraxz, but they havent done this one yet.

And yes, FFG likes to add ships in the background, but that generally doesnt mean anything besides that they acknowledge they exist. They are released eventually... but thats just because they simply release everything eventually.

Assault Frigate Mk I doesn't have the split front:

Looks like a Neb B 2 to me:

That is the Mark 1 just alternative art design.

Word. Fine by me, bring on the AF MK I split variant then!

Yep, alternate Mk I. But, the ship in the hologram is a B2.

I don't even care which one is in the hologram, the split trail at the front looks cool. Bring on one or both!

Personally, I always thought the 'alternate' assault frigate mk I was my favorite design. I love the 'sea creature' theme for Rebel ships. Squids, Sharks, Eeels.... (Whales?)

Its not you can see it has a tail fin and 4 engines

Coincidence!.... it must be true!

<_<

Seriously guys there's no confirmation that one ship spoils the wave of another. It just happens on the artwork incidentally. As others have said, there are examples of ships which have never manifested.

As for the Hologram, as a fan of the B2 design, that is an Assault Frigate MK-Ie or somesuch (since there are something like five designs now). You can see the bottom of the trailing vertical fin but the top has been cut off. Also, the Nebulon-B on the right is missing the drive pod, and these ships are out of scale. This tells me that this artwork was not intended to be viewed with this much scrutiny and those are complicated ship-looking shapes not meant to be taken as anything other than vague shapes attacking a Star Destroyer.

So Rebel wave 3

Dp20 - high anti squadron, overall high firepower for its size similiar to raider

Assault Frigate MkI - strong front arc

Pelta class frigate - seen in the Rebels

Mc80 LIberty (large) - strong front arc. Since we had Mc80 in wave2 they might leave liberty for wave 4.

Maraduer class corvette/missle cruiser (small) - they like empire at war ships so we might see it but they might not want another black dice ship right after mc30.

Mc40 (small) - a little known ship but would make a nice small broadside oriented ship, right now there is nothing smaller than whales

Quasar Fire Bulk Cruiser - pure carrier ship, something we didn't see yet.

Empire wave 3

Arquentis cruiser - seen in the Rebels, high probability

Interdictor cruiser - same as above

Vindicator cruiser

Ton falk escort carrier

The interdictor in Rebels is a unique ship unlike previous variant. Unless you mean the ISD one but that one is ugly....

Ok, I have modeled both. The ship in the hologram is a Assault Frigat Mk I Type VI. It has the fins on the back. The top fin is cut because the hologram ends there, just like the Nebulon B on the right. It also has four engines while the Nebulon b2 has more engines.

The Assault Frigate Mk I Type VI was heavily shown in the Wii version of the Force Unleashed II. The Salvation (which was Nebulon B in the other platforms) is a AF MkI Type VI. You can even see some videos on youtube of the ship during the Battle of Kamino.

I thought this thread was about the DP-20?

Swashbucklers!

Honestly it looked like a closeup of the side of a VSD to me.

I thought this thread was about the DP-20?

But at it's core, it's a thread on speculation, so Escort Carriers confirmed?
