What is the best Cannon, mixed with Outrider? Tell me what you think. I have been using Mangler, but should I be using something else?
Cannon W/ YT-2400
I'd say go mangler, because with HLC, you can't attack close range, and with flechette cannons, you won't be making the most of your attack, with a maximum of one hit per roll. Same thing with ion cannons.
Edited by SpaceninNow if your trying to make the outrider pure support, go with the flechette, because of the automatic stress.
Locking a 37pt ship into 1 damage and a stress seems like a total waste, there are far better ships for stress-spamming.

Agreed.
Heavy Laser Cannon every time. Range 1 is still death to the Outrider, even with the mangler, just because you're getting such a horrible dice exchange there.
HLC all day every day. 4 attack dice is so much better than 3 attack dice.
I also use APL to 'scare' people from trying to get into the doughnut and so I can block ships with higher PS and boost who get into the doughnut with ease.

Nope. not automatic, and that's the problem.
Torpedo has auto-stress, Cannon is a fail.
I always go for mangler, and then Leebo and Determination to laugh of a surprising number of critical damage cards.
I use HLC with Dash, so he can runa away from Range 1.
Or i use Mangler with Leebo.
If you have another ship(s) that can attack at range 1 and can do it well, then go HLC, and snipe 4 attack die rolls far from enemy ships, while your other friendlys go in for range 1 powerful hits, such as a b-wing or millennium falcon. (if this is all wrong or poor strategy then it is because I am an imperial only player)
I typically run Mangler, but try to stay at range 2-3. It allows me the flexibility of still firing when I don't correctly guess my opponents maneuver. I usually run Dash with a Blue Squadie and TLT equipped Goldie.
Your typical engine upgrade PtL Dash typically has zero problem staying at range 2+ of things. HLC all the way. With TL and Focus, 93% chance of 4 hits I believe.

Yep, this is the build, unfortunately. It's such a beast and regularly zaps ties with one-shots, while suffering very little in the way of return fire. A swarm's worst nightmare...
This is my obligatory post where I point out that Autoblaster on Dash is surprisingly effective, especially in this meta full of high Agilities and Autothrusters and Palpatines. Combine it with VI and Navigator and it becomes very difficult for opponents to stay away from Dash when he wants to snuggle up close to them.
