Threw this together for the new pilots.

Scourge decoys with Wampa, who uses Younger's Marksmanship and Howlrunner Reroll to get an automatic damage card, through any shields. Then Scourge gets to go and has a target with a damage card, for an extra damage die. (and Marksman, and howlrunner reroll) Backstabber's along for extra damage, and the BSP is the bodyguard.

I feel like this is exactly what Fantasy Flight wants us to do with these ships. Not that I have a problem, I'd love to see the tie swarms come back.

calculation?

I hope this is good enough but I'm betting we'll need a new action header EPT for swarms. Squad leader might hold enough shenanagins to matter. Squad leader into fleet officer or TL with weapons engineer to double up on free actions to those that can't usually get them? Kir Kanos in play?

calculation?

Typo fixed

IMO, replace DtF on the Black Squadron with Crackshot. Triggers more often and certain matchups ignore DtF, like AC ships or TLT's.

Better to put Swarm Tactics on Scourge rather than Decoy. Same cost, and you can have Wampa fire first but both at PS 7.

I'd also drop Backstabber to a Black Squadron Pilot with Crack Shot and then add Crack Shot to Howlrunner.

Looks like it would be fun to fly, but on defense it's still just six TIEs. It would be interesting to analyze its offense compared to a Crack Shot swarm.

what about:

Inquistor+title+VI+AT

youngster+mark

Wampa

Howl+swarm

Scourge+calc

one less ship but you dont have to run the Inquisitor in formation, the title is awesome, and he has a little more staying power

Howlrunner (Crackshot)

Wampa

Zeta Ace (Juke, Comm Relay)

Omega (Juke, Comm Relay)

Omega (Juke, Comm Relay)

made using only the new Ties that are currently worth it :D

keep Youngster's base and card handy, though, because he'll become a meta force if they ever release a decent ACTION: ept

5 tie lists go down fairly easily

LN, probably

FOs are a beast of a different color, especially with Comms. That upgrade is something you need to put on the table to get a real sense of how useful it is, that and their beautiful dials

You might also consider dropping decoy and draw, and putting swarm tactics on the Black Sqdrn - frees your ept for Scourge for something more menacing if you can find the points, or just go Crackshot if you don't want to swap Backstabber out at all.

This way Scourge shoots after Backstabber too, and the Black Squadron Pilot if he wants to.

Synergy is good, but what you don't want to have is a squad which relies on multiple units doing this, then this, then this, because mid/end game you need to be able to play with 1/2 your squad punched out.

Decoy means that whoever is left over, Scourge can swap places with them in the firing order, giving a fighting chance of getting his extra red die.

I've been thinking how to use an 'Expose' - equipped Younger. The problem is action economy; Yes, extra dice are cool, but the problem is that Expose is statistically no better than a focus token on a 2-die attack, and gets worse if you have range 1 added into the mix.

As a result, whilst you've got Howlrunner's reroll, it's a nice option, but if Howlrunner gets killed on the first or second exchange of fire*, Younger's ability becomes a useless option unless you can rack up a focus token as well.

Ergo, Push The Limit:

  • Howlrunner - Push The Limit, Twin Ion Engines MkII
  • Mauler Mithel/Scourge** - Push The Limit, Twin Ion Engines MkII
  • Younger - Expose, Experimental Interface
  • Night Beast - Twin Ion Engines MkII
  • Black Squadron Pilot - Push The Limit, Twin Ion Engines MkII

Yes, it's only 5 TIE fighters, but the opening salvo should hurt like hell. I doubt you'd want to use expose on Howlrunner (more likely you'd focus/evade) but the option is there if you want to.

You might take the view that she's gonna die anyway against something like a 4xTLT barrage, and you might as well throw another 3-die focused attack before you do.

* seriously, though, when does that ever happen?

** Still not sure which is the better choice.

neat list, lots of different PSs may get you in a pickle when they finnish the first joust. Also, 20 points for ships without shields seems risky. I am a fan of the classic

Darth Vader (31) TIE Advanced (29), TIE/x1 (0), Veteran Instincts (1), Advanced Targeting Computer (5)

"Mauler" Mithel (17)

“Backstabber” (16)

Academy Pilot (12) x 3

Flown in two squads of three (just like the movie), yes I have a mixed bag of PSs but at least the handles are cooler :)
