Rebel Stress List

By HoundsTooth, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Let me start this thread by saying that I am primarily an Imperial player. I once flew Blue-Bacca and didn't really like it. I also took a Rebel Swarm to a Store Championship and spent the whole event wishing I'd brought TIE Fighters. I've flown Scum once. It was a M3-A mangler swarm. In an attempt to 'broaden my horizons' I've decided to fly Rebels... And then eventually Scum. The big thing for Rebels at the moment seems to be the use of stress to combat Imperial Aces. To this end here's my first attempt at a stress 'control' list...

  • Warden Squadron Pilot + TLT + Tactician
  • Blue Squadron Pilot + FCS + E2 + Tactician
  • Gold Squadron Pilot + Ion Cannon Turret + R3-A2 + Title
  • Prototype Pilot + Refit + Autothrusters

Warden is there for the TLT threat, one being enough as they don't suffer the doughnut hole that Y-Wings with TLT do. The Blue is there to bring some increased damage output to the squad (and the possibility of dealing stress). The Stress Hog is a Stress Hog. If it's as effective on the table as it looks on paper I'll be more than happy! And the Prototype is inspired by Nathan Eide's during Worlds. Now I know this list is going to take a while to learn to fly well. I have to be able to judge range two effectively to make the most of the Tacticians. I need to learn how to use SLAM effectively (ie, when to and when not to). I need to master the fixed turret Y-Wing... In fact the only part of the list I feel comfortable with is the PS1 blocker! ;)

So, what am I looking for? Suggestions for improvements, things to look out for, advice on turn zero tactics (asteroids, deployment, etc) and tips on flying these Rebel Sum 'beasts'. All advice and help is gratefully accepted!
