Map to the stars!

By Smutpedler, in X-Wing Off-Topic

If anyone's seen the new TFA articles in Empire magazine you've probably seen the "Map to the starts" published therein. What grabbed my attention here was the presence of Rakata Prime. Rakata Prime was the final world in Knights of the Old Republic and the location for the Star Forge battle finale. The Rakata were dark side force users who once had a great empire spanning the galaxy and have appeared in the Dawn of the Jedi comics aswell as KOTOR, both no longer considered canon.

Whilst this doesn't mean anything significant right now I'm curious as to why that planet in particular was labelled. I'm sure Lucasfilm have some plans up thier sleeves to give the fans what they want and KOTOR pretty much has cult status so I'm really curious to see how things progress. Are we in for some Revan sometime? I know Dave Filoni tried to put Revan in TCW so it's a possibility now old George isn't at the wheel. Are we in for some really interesting Sith history lessons? Who knows but I'm pretty excited to find out and curious why that planet specifically was included on the map.

Here's a link to digital versions of the articles for anyone who wants a gander...

The Starkiller Base Origin Point is in what was once Chiss Space.... Hmmm.

Kuat's still here though!

Interesting; as the Chiss as a race were canonised by the Commander game. I wonder if well see what became of the planet in the new movie. Curiously; Rakata Prime is the only planet there with no canon entry in wookiepedia. It appears Kuat was mentioned in TCW and one of the new books...
