I saw the super aggressive, RAC with gunner, Vader and engine do well. Basically you know your going to lose it so you hit like sledgehammer before it dies.

You then have your second ship mop up the mess.

Maybe a Kenkirk with Palps, Ysanne, engine & VI could be competitive still. Basically two evades each turn (once shields are down) and have an annoying ace run riot. I haven't tried both so cant say personally.

I won a 10 man escalation last weekend with oicunn as my first ship. Mara Jade does work in those bigger point games. Predator turrett is amazing as well, but we already knew that.

With Mara and Sheev, sure. Then again it really depends on the number of TLTs in your area. If you're at a small place where only one person bought a K-Wing, you're pretty much set. If you know you will be facing quad Ys or even quad Bs, then yes, the decimator might be a bad idea.

I'm partial to PTL on that kenkirk, instead of VI, so that you can possibly arc dodge at the beginning of combat.

Gunner Vader is solid on everyone but Kenkirk right now.

on a tournament last weekend and did pretty well.

Would have been better if I played it at least once before.

Taking untested and unplayed lists to tournaments is my style.

I have bad habits, I know.

The decimator is still a strong ship atm, even in the current meta. I took the following list to the Australian nationals, which was held after wave 7 dropped:

52 Oicunn w/ EH, Gunner, Vadar

48 (4x) Academies

I played and beat a whole heap of different lists, including a quad-TLT list played by an excellent opponent. So based on that I think the decimator is still a quality ship, with the one caveat that you need to cover it's weaknesses with the rest of your squad.

Oicunn or Patrol with Vader is still the best anti-ace for Imperials. If you can ram into some TLTs to mitigate the amount of damage you'll receive, it's still viable in this meta IMO.

-Gunner

-Darth Vader

-Ysanne Isard

-Engine Upgrade

With regular 35 point Soontir. List clocks in at 98 points. RAC does work against other aces because of Vader and PS 10. Ysanne is there to ensure that you get to use Vader into the mid/late game, and Gunner makes him hit like a tank. I also have a list that clocks in at 100 points, and you swap VI for Predator on RAC. Not sure which is better yet...

I don´t have the points for Ysanne and I am heading to try to play with Rebel Captive and Mara Jade to reduce getting into firing arcs too often. Is this tactic possible to counter aces and other ships?

I've rediscovered Chiraneu recently. Had forgotten what a beast he can be.

I'd like to pair him with something else than one ace though. As many ships as possible.

Minimum loadout is engine and predator on Chiraneu.

That leaves 47pts. Any suggestions?

Hell yeah the decimator is still viable, there is just no point in being too defensive with them because you are gonna get at least only half points on them. So I go all brutality right now

I think Chiraneau is more viable than Han in the current meta. The ability wrecks ywings and 16hp actually offers some durability against TLT who cant crit. Also the Empire has slightly better aces in the 30-35pt range.

But the 2ship meta is pretty dead (save for brobots),i dont think they're top tier anymore.
