Ok, here is the set up:
Ibtisam + Auto blaster with a target Lock & stressed. Could this event play out:
- Attack Roll, all blanks.
- Spend the target lock and re-roll all three. 2 hits and one blank.
- Use Ibtisam's ability and re-roll the blank?

Nope. You can only re-roll any die once, regardless of where the ability comes from. This applies even if the opponent forces you to re-roll. I'll look for the exact place it's mentioned in the rules.
Found it, page 13 of the new rules reference, under Modifying Dice:
• Dice can be modified by multiple effects, but a die cannot be rerolled more than once.
Edited by imprezagoateeAnd if you're still playing under the old rulebook, it's at the bottom of the blue sidebar on page 12.
You can modify a die multiple times using tokens or abilities, but you've never been able to reroll a die more than once.
OOHHHH!!! I see. So if you roll attack die and I use Elusiveness to make you re-roll one, that particular die cannot ever be re-rolled during that attack sequence. BUT, tokens can effect it. So:

- Attack dice - 3 hits. (your good!)
- Elusiveness, re-roll one results in focus. (HA! dodged one)
- You use focus token to change it back to a hit. (double ha!)
ABSOLUTELY!
It doesn't matter who forces or chooses the reroll, the rule applies to that die (or any die rerolled) for the duration of the sequence.
In your example, you're basically forcing the opponent to use a token or miss, which can be a quite viable tactic. When it comes time to shoot him, he doesn't have a defensive focus token, so your chance of scoring a hit just went up.
Edited by ParravonOnly one reroll of a die as everyone is noting.
If you have Han with Predator and a TL on a ship you may have three potential sources of rerolls that you control yet only one will apply to any given die.

I never quit thought about the fact that the die wouldn't be re-rolled if my opponent made me re-roll it. Thanks much for the tip!

That's actually one of the tricks you can use with R7 Astromech. If they have a TL on you, you can use your TL+R7 to reroll everything which robs them of the ability to use their TL to reroll only the blanks.

Would it not be better to force reroll everything but the blanks to force them to spend the TL (if they want the blanks rerolled)? It would be the same amount of dice rerolled (if they decide to us the TL), but in one case they still have a TL after the attack and in the other they do not. Seems to me leaving your opponent without a TL on you would be the better choice if all else is equal.

I suppose it would, you'd get rid of the TL on your ship which can never hurt.
Ok... So just got the YT-1300! What about this re-rolling combo:
Millennium Falcon with Han Solo + Gunner- roll attack, ugh 1 hit. Re-roll all three, blanks! Gunner kicks in, blanks. Use the target lock, 3 focus. Use focus token for 3 hits.
That's entirely legal.
However, from an optimal play point of view, there'd be no need to use the Target Lock on the second attack; might as well just use Han's ability and keep the Lock for later on.

A Dr4co said, if you're going to reroll everything just use Han's ability again instead of spending the TL. Remember than Han can be used every attack and Gunner provides a completely new attack.
As DR4CO points out, because the Gunner attack is an entirely separate attack, you have another opportunity to use Han to reroll everything and save the Targetl Lock.
The only catch with Han is you must reroll every die that's eligible, even the hits or crits that came up. There's a few threads buried around here that discuss Han and target locks and rerolls. A quick search should bring them up. ![]()

Holy rolling dice! That's right, Gunner/Luke are completely new rolls. That is too cool. Should call the Han/Gunner build "Limp Bizkit" because they keep on rollin' rollin' rollin'. LOL
Thank all three of you.
