What's everyone doing with their k wings?

I like the K-wing, but I wish there was a pilot like redline for it that would actually make running ordnance worthwhile. People use it as a bomber and a TLT carrier, but you still don't see anything on all those ordnance pylons, and I find that rather sad. I'm interested to try this puppy out in epic play.

Miranda is ok at it what with her ability to add an extra die. That's the only way you're ever going to see a 7 dice attack as far as I know (Jan and APT)

I think Fickle is just incorrect, haha. They don't have croissants with TLT like Y-Wings or HWKs do, this makes them good. When the game ruining Scum turret comes out, I think they'll be a strong choice since they function as 3 dice fat turrets essentially. Dengar's omniscient hypermobility simply won't phase them.

When quad TLT's have faced triple K-Wings, it's a pretty fair fight, perhaps with the advantage to the K-Wings. If the K's hug the Y's at range one they're going to win.

being good with TLT isn't about "my dad can beat your dad" in a TLT-off, it's simply about efficiency

the 2 dice PWT is cute, but it's hardly frightening and it's certainly not worth the 5 point cost increase

given how rare (re, impossible) it is to see just a TLT Warden at 29 points, I'd have to hazard a guess that Tactician has something to do with it

Crew definitly makes the difference, along with dial. I believe on this basis that the HWK warrants more exploration. The dial is a bit worse and the stats definitly are, but it is the cheapest of the cheap. I flew Torkil with TLT and Rec Spec and destroyed my opposition. The trick is to have a more immediate threat next to him so he wont get pushed over.

People must stop being affraid, they might find some gold here. I will definitly attempt to reign with my 3 Tactician Operatives + Stresshog list (that I still haven't flown since the HWK was sold out on my last shopping spree). It has the potential, I just have to be the right pilot.

I've been flying Miranda quite a bit lately:

45 Miranda w/ TLT, Recon, Proton bomb, Extra munitions

54 (2x) Blue w/ FCS, E2, Tactician

1 Initiative

C3P0 or R2D2 can make Miranda incredibly tough, but I’ve found without Recon she lacks the offensive punch to justify her cost, so I prefer the Recon version to really punish my opponent if they choose to ignore her in favour of the B-wings, which they typically do. The B-wings are based on the same principle; if my opponent Ignores them in favour of chasing Miranda they have FCS to really dish out the pain, and tactician to make the chase even harder. Finally the thing that ties this list together are the two proton bombs on Miranda. The bombs at PS8 help against swarms (this lists inherent weakness), whilst also making the K-wing a nightmare to chase for most non-turret ships (and turret ships too!).

The strategy for this list is pretty standard, just joust with the B-wings and flank with Miranda. If they turn to engage Miranda, she turns her butt to them and drops protons on them whilst leading them towards the asteroids, with the B-wings following. If they engage the B-wings instead I just try to destroy a couple of ships before the B-wings die so that Miranda can win the endgame. Even 1v1 against Soontir Miranda can generally win provided you play her smart and use the rocks, SLAM, and her bombs to deny him places to manoeuvre forcing him to use his actions to reposition.

So far the K-wing is lots of fun. I might have to give the Connor net warden a go too.
